Some ?s for the Experienced Mommies out there
Hey ladies...so I have some general questions and I thought maybe yall could help me with some of the answers. And maybe there's others out there who are wondering the same things..So here goes..
1. Has anyone used Gripe water for hiccups or gas and what are your thoughts on it...work/ not work?
2. Are there any good tricks to help with burping the baby? (Landen has become more difficult to burp and I don't like when I just can't seem to help him get those bubbles out)
3. Mylicon drops? hel*****t help??
4. So ped told me to continue using warm wash rags to massage the corners of his eyes- anyone have any other helpful tips to help the eye gunkies dissapear quicker?
5. This one is for my c-section mommies- how long did it take you to recover sensation in your lower stomach area?? This numbness down there really is a bummer and I would love for it to go away- SOON!
Well, I am sure I'll get a variety of answers, but being a FTM I really look forward to reading your input as it definitely helps me. Being a Mommy is such a fun job, but man it's a wild ride too LOL :)
Thanks ladies and hope you all have a terrific weekend!!! We're heading for newborn pics tomorrow- oh and if anyone has any good ideas on props or things we should take- feel free to let me know that too ;) Thanks in advance!

1. yes it works...
2. try sitting him up.. with the palm of your hand on his belly putting slight pressure on his belly ..use your thumb and pointer finger to hold up his little head... and pat his back... ill see if i can find a picture...
3, not sure... my kids were never really super gassy... my son had reflux and i put it in his bottles... i could see the bubbles from mizing the foam go away so im assuming it does.. dr browns bottles help alot with gas
4. hes right.. its gross... but theres really not much you can do.... rub in a circular motion with your finger as well as the warm rag

1. Gripe Water works!!!!!
2. Sit him up and pat from the bottom up and bounce a little when u do it.
3. Bella never had to much gas and she was BF but I have hear people say put it in there bottles.
Props- I have had friends buy a chair or stuffed animal that they take a pic with every month to see how they grow. Have fun!

Thanks Jessica! I'm going to try the bouncing technique. I usually get him to burp good for me in that position, but there are times when he's a little toughie! Love the prop idea...I will be grabbing his little monkey from his crib (the one he hasn't used yet lol) and take it with! Thanks so much! :)
Hey Kerri,
I don't have any answers for questions 1-4 since it's been over 8 yrs since I've had a baby but I do have an answer to #5...I had two c-sections and my last one was over 8 yrs ago and I still haven't regained all the feeling in my lower stomach area and don't think I ever will...not sure if it's that way for all c-section mommies, but I have heard that because the stomach muscles were cut, that is why the feeling in the lower stomach hasn't returned...might want to ask your doc about this to be sure.
I sure hope you're enjoying your precious lil man :-)

Woohoo!!! Sounds like it's something I better be gettin used to!!! Ugh...yuck!!!
As for enjoying him- words can't even describe how much!! He's such a music type of baby, so my favorite thing to do with him is wrap him up in his blankie, turn on CMT, and slow dance around the living room with my little man- just me and him!! :) And I'm kind of burning calories too right?? LOL No one ever could have prepared me enough for all the joys, smiles and tears your won child can bring to you! I honestly thank God every night for giving me this opportunity :)
And Lord do I ever just want to sleep ON my belly!!!!! Waaaaaaa LOL

1.Gripe water usually helps!
2. My oldest was a tough burper. I just burped him a bit harder (don't whack him too hard, lol) and for longer and eventually it came out. Also, you can alternate from the traditional burping position to the over-your-lap position.
3. Meh. Maybe it helps. I had mixed results.
4. I put a tiny dab of aquaphor on my finger and massaged it around their eyes.
5. I had 2 c-sections (the last one was 4 years ago) and I'm still waiting to regain feeling, lol! But the majority of it came back by like 4 months out. It is a slow process. It always makes me queasy to run my hand over the numb spot-- yuck!
Good luck,
-V
