Bedrest sucks...

I know the reason is worth it, and I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize the health of this baby. With two premies already, I wouldn't wish the NICU on ANY mother...but this SUCKS  lol

My son's 8th birthday is on Monday and he wants to go to the movies this weekend. My doc OK'd trips like that, as long as the only movement I do is from car to theater seat. Not going to happen with an eight and five year old. So my mom is going with my husband while I stay home with baby. I can't go to my son's teeball practices because the parking lot is too far from field...I really want to go and get a few things for Jaelyn, but I can't because I have tried to make "quick trips" as allowed...and i end up in so much pain its not even funny.

It isn't even contractions as much as its her positioning. Doc said she has been in position for weeks now, and the pressure on my spine is the biggest issue. When you google this, first thing it says "Excersize and movement is best cure, so if you're on bedrest you may need to invest in some pain treatment" ....Lovely LOL  Just my luck right?

I am at least keeping my mind busy, and my husband is being so helpful. I just wish I could be involved in my family's life right now

They checked via ultrasound last week still long and closed thankfully. I never have dialated well on my own. First was overdue, and had to be induced due to low fluid, and second my water broke at 34 weeks and I still had to be induced because cervix wouldn't progress. OB says his biggest concern is baby and how she is tolerating the contractions, and why she is engaged already. During her level two ultrasound they couldn't get her to move no matter how much they pushed pulled on my belly (can we say OUCH)...Stubborn little thing she is.

She is measuring right on target with June 22nd though as of last check, with no gain of my own.

So it's the name causing it?  lol OB wants to deliver at 38 weeks as long as she continues to grow steadily. So not TOO much longer  (just going to keep telling myself that). DH looked at me last night and said baby looks like she has dropped already. I told him he must not have been looking for past two weeks lol

I've never had to be on bed rest, so just sending a message of support to you- you'll be back involved in the family's life before you know it. It's great to hear that your husband is being so helpful - stay strong.

Im going to send you my support and words of encouragement even though Im sad that you & the others totally misread my question and had nothing nice to say to me. sadly you didnt even read my actual question. despite that, I know how difficult it is to be on bedrest. i was in the hospital on bedrest for 8 weeks with my son and then home on bedrest for 4 more. It is such a difficult thing to go through, especially with other children at home. you feel so guilty and want to do so much for your children. I remember feeling like the worst mom in the world even though I knew in reality that was nowhere near the truth. They seem to adapt quickly and seem to be able to accept it & understand it much better than we think they do.  at the time it seems as though it will never end. i remember people telling me that it would all be over before I knew it and that it would seem like a blip in time and wouldnt matter once I had that perfect little baby in my arms. I knew they were right but its still hard at the time. You are fortunate to at least still be in the home with them. Just keep trying to make the most of that.i realize  that can be hard too though cause you want to do so much for them.  I totally feel for you and hope that the time goes by quickly for you. also, im sorry to hear of the pain you are in. i pray that it will go away and all will be well. Good luck!

I totally feel your pain!  I am 34wks pg tomorrow and have been in the hospital since Jan 26!  I have both a previa and an abruption so with all the bleeding they didn't want to chance sending me home and have a major bleed.  My tentative C-section date is set for Mar 28!!  I may deliver before that just depends on my bleeding.  Docs are drawing another CBC tomorrow because of all the bleeding they have dropped.  Alls I know is it is tough not to be at home.  I have a 13 yr old and a 5 yr old at home.  I am missing both my sons b-day(Mar 21 he'll be 13 ) and my husbands b-day on Wed.  It is so very hard to not be at home, and not see them.  It's really hard on my youngest, he just doesn't understand.

Hang in there, like you said it's worth it in the end.  It's only temporary:)  I'm just hoping for a healthy baby boy who doesn't have to go to NICU, or if he does it's only for a short time.

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:)  After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great!  Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should.  Now it's my turn to lose this weight!  It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!
