Just how easy is it to get pregnant after surgery?

I had my surgery in July and since then I've lost about 70-75 pounds (closer to 100 pounds since last year). I had my period on January 31st, then I'm not 100% sure when the next one started but I know it started on either the 25th or 26th of February. I've been having unprotected sex with my hubby a few times a day, every couple days from March 8th until now (stupid, stupid me). I know I made a mistake, but I've beat myself up enough about it. Please be nice :(. What are my chances of being pregnant? I know it isn't an ideal time to get pregnant, and I'm not hoping to be pregnant. But if there is a large chance that I am pregnant, I want to get to the doctor as soon as a pregnancy test would come up positive. Does anyone have any input for me? Thanks in advance.

why has your surgeon not told you to go on birth control?  being pregnant this early out is a BAD idea.  Stop having unprotected sex.  Seriously.  March 8th would be around your fertile time if your are on a semi normal schedule.  Are you trying to get pregnant?

It's INCREDIBLY easy to get pregnant after surgery barring any fertility issues that are non-weight related.  So the chances that you conceived are probably very good and perhaps you should have taken more stock in your surgeon warning you about using protection AND back-up protection for a good 12-18 months.  They don't spew out information for their own health, it's for you!

And more than likely, your baby will be fine.. it's the damage it does to YOU and your body that you'll be forever recovering from.

Personally, this post reads "Purposely tried to get pregnant all over it"

I am with you, I was never told that having this surgery could cause me to become so VERY fertile, I was only 5 months post op and after not being able to get pregnant for 4 years I was under the impression that I could not have any more children ( this after many doctors visits and many tests ) but I did become pregnant and I am now 8 months and doing well. I do agree that it was not the best time but I believe God only gives you what you can handle. I wish you the best of luck and don't beat yourself up too much and DO NOT let anyone else make you feel bad about this !!!!

Chances are good you will end up pregnant and if not, I hope if you don't want to get pregnant that you will start to use protection......not worth the risk this early on and especially if you dont want to get pregnant!

Any input? Starting using protection if you truely aren't trying to get pregnant. If you ARE trying to get pregnant this early, then no I will not be nice. There are several of us due around the same time that due to failed BC are now suffering from numerous issues surrounding how early we got pregnant. Is it possible to have a totally normal pregnancy this early out, yes. Is it recommended to do it intentionally? No...

I say pee on a stick and if you aren't pregnant, start preventing it.
