Thank you so very much for speaking up for me. I havnt been on since I posted and was very surprised to see the answers I was getting. Thank you for actually reading my question. I cant believe that women on here with so mu*****ommon would be so quick to attack. I could see if i didnt write that I know weight loss isnt the most important thing right now or if i didnt specifically state that i was wondering about weight loss after the baby. With that said, I am thankful that there are rational people like you out there who actually read something before jumping to conclusions and passing judgements on others. So, all in one moment, I am disheartened by them & enlightened by you. Congratulations on your pregnancy. It is very scary having it happen right after surgery but I have finally had enough reassurance from docs & ultrasounds & tests to know that my baby is perfectly healthy as I know yours will be too. Enjoy this wonderful time. I am very excited for you and I cant thank you enough for your words and understanding. You roc****ep in touch.

I had open RNY in December of 2004 and then conceived a baby in January of 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I lost about 50 lbs before finding out then gained 25 during pregnancy and lost it all the week after delivering.  I did not lose fast afterwards but that was mostly b/c I fell i to bad eating habits.  When I do what I am supposed to do I lose pretty effectively.  I am now expecting baby #2 :)  I've got a few more weeks and then I'll be back to the weight loss train!

Congrats!

BTW our first born son was a healthy and happy 11 lb baby born at 39 weeks via c-section.  I am a diabetic since age 12, was well controlled during pregnancy and this time around am also doing well with control but expect another big baby.

Hey.. I had RNY on april 20th 2010 and found out I conceived in September 2010 also.  Im due in June 2011.  I understand how you are feeling...we already have three children and thought we were finished as well, one of the reasons I decided to finally take care of Myself and have the WLS.  I have had a really rough pregnancy regarding constant sickness and not being able to take vitamins or get in much nutrition.  However, baby is growing just fine.  I had lost 120 pounds and have been at a standstill since for about 4 months now.  The health of my baby is most most important, but after waiting my whole life to loose weight I completely understand the fear of not being able to take advantage of this once in a lifetime surgery.  I have talked with other people who say the weight loss will slow down, but still work.  good luck with everything.

First of all to goal 160 and the others who actually read what I wrote. Thank you so very much. The others of you with the ridiculous nasty attitude didnt even bother to actually read my words carefully.I am very dissapointed and hurt that some of you who would jump to attack mode. READ MY QUESTION before you jump to pass judgement on me who is a mother who lives solely and completely for her children and their health and well being!!!!! I clearly stated that I know weight loss is not important right now. My question was, in your experiences will I start to lose again AFTER I deliver. How dare you attack me like that?If you're going to spew your negativity you need to make darn sure its warranted and that perhaps you havent misread or missed something in a poat. Like I said, to goal160 and those others who actually answered my question. thank you. it is because of you that people come here for support. Thank you for your kindness!

I had RNY on 8/23/10 and conceived (unintentionally) on 11/4, so less than 3 months later. I'm 19 weeks pregnant now and have lost a total of 66 pounds since surgery. I am not losing but also not gaining which my doc is very happy with. I am still heavy and baby is taking what he needs and measuring perfectly.

I don't think there's any reason to think you won't lose more after baby's born. My surgeon seems to think my weight loss will continue after baby's arrival.
