I was so shocked and scarred when I found out I was pregnant, I made a Dr. appt for the following day had an Ultrasound done and did lab work and Dr. said everything looked good!!!! I thought my husband and I were doing good we did have a few accidents with broken condoms. Im always irregular on my menstural and often miss periods, so I really didnt expect anything. Does anyone know someone whos gone through having the rny and pregnant after 6 months advice and knowledge would be great! thanks... pray for my baby :)

There are a few women here who got pregnant at about 6 months out.
You can learn a lot by going back on all the pages and reading the different questions that people have posted. Or you can post them as you need answers. Good luck!

I got pregnant at 9 months out. It wasnt an accident, I was give then "go ahead" by my surgeon and my OB to start "tyring", apparently everyone thought that it would take a while longer, as hubby had testicular cancer in 05 and had one removed, and I being overweight never had regular periods.

Anyway, Im fertile Myrtle now. BE CAREFUL! You will need to change your eating habbits, make sure to drink all the time! I would go ahead and ask my OB about seeing a dr who is a little more experienced with WLS patients.

I had to leave work when I was 3 months pregnant cause I wasnt allowed to "snack" at work, I was then put on bed rest at 24 weeks for preterm labor.  I lost a great deal of weight after I became pregnant, and only gained about 12 while pregnant, which was great when having to lose all the baby weight, but....CAN BE DANGEROUS TO THE BABY IF YOU ARENT CAREFUL!

Just follow your gut instinct. I basically made sure I was eating things that were healthy, and i was eating more often. Take your vitamins and again, DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!

Good luck and H&H9M!!

hi! thank you for your response. Im not suprised about the doc giving u the go ahead my doc said many of his patients have had the surgery and he would have to me to abort if I was 1 to 4 months out. I am low on electrolites so yes, water water water! my NUT said to get another shake daown a day too and stay on my reg. vitamin not prenatal. Im an at home mom so I can graze (snack) throught the day it sucks though cuz I had a hard time breaking that habbit for surgery :( but baby is sooo worth it! thank you for your advice but whats H&H9M?

Congrats on ur BFP!  Make sure your Bari surgeon is aware of your pregnancy.  He/she might request monthly blood draws to check your vitamin levels.

H&H9M = healthy & happy 9 months.  :-)
