Low fluid?

Went to my obgyn today for an ultrasound and checkup. I'm almost 31 weeks along and I've only gained 17lbs the babys 3lbs and 13 inches. I've actually lost 3lbs but the dr. said he thinks I may have had a stomach bug because of all the pain I described in a previous post and the vomiting after I ate last week. What I'm concerned about is they said the fluid around my baby is low. What does that even mean, how is it caused, is there anything I can do to help it. He didn't really go into specifics just told me to come back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound and if it went any lower we would get concerned then. Well I'm concerned now everything about this pregnancy( symptoms, etc) has been completely off the wall then what anybody has experienced. I have even talked to many of you about my crazy symptoms and no one has said hey I went through that. I'm freaking. Someone anyone help me please
Thanxs, Amy

drink lots and lots of water. I had that when I was pregnant with my first, happened after I got the flu. could be from a leak, or dehydration. I have heard in a few instances that drinking a whole lot of water helps!
Good Luck!

Thats whats so crazy I always have a drink of some kind in my hand because I'm always thirsty. I just figured it was because I was diabetic. Was your first baby ok? What I mean is did he/she come early or have any problems due to low fluid at birth, and were you able to bring your fluid level up.

I started leaking the fluids at 31.5 weeks and they induced me at 32. I did not progress and they finally did another test and saw that I was not leaking anymore. SO they put me on hospital bed rest for 2 weeks. Then I went home. I had to have non stress test twice a week, and at 39 week, they did another ultrasound and said my levels were really low so they induced me. My labor was long and hard, and they had to break my water. Which they said there was no reason for such concern!
My daughter ended up just fine! She is very smart and active. She is only 5, and at a 2nd grade learning level! She missed the school cut off by 6 days so I decided to home school her. My SIL brought by a math book of her son's and she is actually doing his 2nd grade math with little help from us. She also figure skates and does gymnastics and her coaches in both have said numerous times that she is ahead of all the kids her age.

So glad to here all that. There already going to induce me at 39 weeks because I'm diabetic just hoping I don't go to much earlier because they said being diabetic her lungs wont develop fully til around 37 weeks. I've just been having so many weird symptoms and I'm worrying about everything.
