Update w/ultrasound
So still on bedrest. Likely will be until Jaelyn joins us, and I think I am finally "ok" with that. My husband starts his CNA class today, and so does Spring break. I am taking all of your advice and when needed having my 8 year old help him. His Occupational therapist actually said it would be a great thing for him, and telling him he has to help Mommy with brother and sister gave him a goal and sense of pride. So we shall see how that plays out this week.
Made sure DH put all the food within reach (normally its high on shelves because I have climbers that like to sneak food), and all clothes are set out ight before so I don't strain myself to get them ready. I think this will be ok.
On Saturday we went and had a 4D ultrasound. I didn't enjoy the experience at ALL. The office was in worst part of town to drive in, had NO parking. I was promised a viewing room seperate from the ultrasound room, and that wasn't the case. SO my mom and her husband took kids somewhere during instead of watching as planned. The woman was actually really nice, but spent more time talking about her own pregnancy, then looking for good shots of baby. I got four color images, and a DVD with about 5 more...Not a whole lot so I left feeling a little ripped off. My husband was aggravated and it was just UGH... Then I got home and watched the movie. And it all became worth it. My oldest son actually teared up and said "Mama she is so cute thats our baby!" and had a smile on his face I had never seen before. It was awesome getting to re-watch the ultrasound with the kids.
Here is a few of the photos. She was nudged RIGHT up against the placenta the entire time so images aren't 100% the greatest.

I am a complainer. I know those ultrasound packages are not cheap and not covered by insurance. So they are supposed to cater to the family and make sure they have a great experience. If you are really upset about it, I would call and speak to the director of the clinic and explain why. They may let you come back for a complimentary quick session with a different tech. Those places rely on word of mouth so they really don't want anyone to stay unhappy.
But...it must have been so exciting seeing the 4D images. How awesome that you have a dvd to keep. And I am glad you are letting your litlle one help out more. I am proud of him too :)

I think seeing his reaction to the DVD made it all better. It would have been nice to have them all watch, but would my two year old have been able to behave? Would I have been able to enjoy it? I am going to just accept my experience, and know that at least I had a coupon LOL As for my son, I was blown away by BOTH of my boys today. They played with their sister, got along, picked up their toys. All I had to do today out of norm was wake up and do meals and snacks! He really is making great progress. I love it! We worry so much about what his abilities to be self sufficient will be...not for us, but for him. HE gives me sign after sign everyday that he will be able to live independantly someday. Exciting!
well, sista I know all about the bedrest... I am so happy for you. At least you have these precious images. Personally I would call to complain about what happened. There is no excuse for any of it. I understand that the other woman was happy and excited but still....
I have been on bedrest for over a month and have 3 more to go. I have had 2 cerclages placed (cervical stitches to hold it shut) and its not a joyous pregnancy at all. BUT I am VERY happy to be pregnant at all.
Take it one day at a time, keep busy but lay as flat as you can. It will be worth it.... I'm around all the time if you ever wanna chat :) [email protected] or you can FB me at christina schramm king (profile pic right now is Eli's profile :) LOL )
Take care and the photos are GREAT...
