I have not taken my Cymbalta (they gave it for the fibromyalgia) and other meds,   I have noticed that I hurt all over and I tend to get upset easy.  I do plan on talkling to my OB on Thurs when I see him again.  Does or did anyone take this and was the baby okay.

Also the nurse said that I sould just take the prenatal vitamins and not take all of the other vits I have been taken because of the surg.

In the ultra sound this week The baby showed up, I am acctually 6 weeks and 2 days as of today.

My nurse at the surgeons office said i needed to be on one of our regular multi's that we take and a prenatal (then between the 2 its enough folic acid) plus our b12 and calcium w/ D...we need the vitamins to keep US and BABY healthy! Not sure about the other meds, sorry.

I'm not sure if Cymbalta is safe or not. I've got fibro as well, I have to see a pain specialist for this.  I'm on Prozac for depression and had to go off the more serious meds in order to get pregnant. My OB told me to take extra folic acid and a prenatal in place of one of my multis but to keep taking the others as they are important!
Hopefully you and your Dr. can find a solution that works for you and is safe for baby.

Hi, I found that link for you. Cymbalta is rated Class C for pregnancy. Which means it is safety category has not been proven on humans but could have had abonormalities on baby mice in labs. It is only given if clearly needed and the benefits outweigh the risks. You should talk to a Psychiatrist and ask what specifcally is safe in your situation. If you clearly cannot be without it, maybe they can give you a lower dose or find a safer alternative.
As for the OB nurse, she is dead wrong. I get very upset when I hear things like that. She is not familiar with the special needs of an RNY patient. And obviously needs to keep her mouth shut. You cannot absorb anything other than calium citrate. Which is not in any prenatals that I know of. Or B12 unless you are getting it in a shot or sublingual. You probably also should be taking D3.
Good luck, hope that helps. I hope they find something suitable to make you feel better soon.

I was on celexa when I found out I was pregnant ( was a surprise pregnancy) and it was a class C and they amde me come off of it and try a class B. I was put on prenatal vits, but had to stay on my monthly b-12 injections, calcium 2x day and iron daily..which I ended up anemic so I am now on Vitron-c which is a high potency iron. Good luck!
