Hello everyone....Im about 27 weeks preggo and the thought of the scale makes me sick!  lol  just trying to get some reassurance here...wondering how much you gained with your pregnancy and how long after you gave birth did it take you to lose?  with my first I gained 65 (gasp) and lost 40 within the first 8 weeks and that was breast feeding and before RNY.  hoping i have a good outcome again!

With my last one I didn't gain anything..maybe lost a few lbs.  But two week after birth I had lost an additional 20lbs so was 20lbs lighter than before I got pregnant.

I don't think that will happen with this pregnancy...I'm eating enough for 10 people and can't seem to stop :(

I am in the same boat........wondering about the weight that is. I am 17 weeks pregnant and so far have only gained 1 pound, but find myself snacking mindlessly the last couple of days. I was only 5 1/2 months post-op when I unexpectantly got pregnant so I never made it to goal. I did continue to loose some during the first several weeks so my "gain" is probably not accurate as I am still less then what I weighed when I got pregnant. But I have to admit to being TERRIFIED of seeing the scale go up.

My baby's health is my main priority and I try to keep that first and foremost in my head when I step on the scale, but I still struggle with body image and the numbers!

What keeps me somewhat sane is that as a horrible lurker on this board, I've heard the wonderfully positive outcomes of many of the new moms! I try my best to stay on my RNY diet program and keep my snacking to a minimum and spend alot of time here. I thrive on the positive vibes I get from this board!

Well, I gained 65lbs and am already down 35! My baby will be 5 weeks old tomorrow. That is also breastfeeding and I eat non stop because I am always hungry because of the calories burned BFing. I have not done a lot of exercise or anything because I had some complications 2 weeks after, so I have been told I have to be on a sorta bed rest until my 6 week check up. Once I do that, I will be at my Zumba class again!

I still have the fat complex though and I am upset because I still do not fit in my pre pregnancy pants. Although my Zumba instructor promises that I will be in no time, and even smaller! LOL

Ok... I will be honest about all my weight issues.

I had rny at 415 pounds. I got pregnant with my first son at 330 lbs. (7 months out) I gained 10 pounds (lost a few and gained them back too) and when I left the hospital I weighed 330 again, but I never really got back on track. So when I got pregnant with my second son (8 months later) I weighed 325 still. I gained to 345 this time and just this morning I weighed 319 (keiran is 4 weeks old tomorrow). I have been successfully back on track for 4 days :) However, I 'm not allowed to exercise for another month.

It comes off... everyone is different. It is just important to focus on the baby.

Hey there! I can only tell you what I know so far, but I started at 183 at birth I weighed 221- gain of 38lbs. I had a c-section 11 days ago and this morning I weighed in at 206, so I've already lost 15lbs. I only have 21lbs to go to get to my pre-preggo weight. I don't have an appetite right now and I'm not breastfeeding. I'm feeling a lot more optomistic now that I've had my little guy and the weight is something I'm in a hurry to get off, but I'm still recovering and swollen. And having him makes the weight seem like something miniscual to worry about now :) I'm going to wait til I'm released in 4 weeks to up my exercising and walk daily with my little guy, but I'm not pushing it and giving my body the time it needs to heal first :)

RNY on 08/16/05 with
I was around 126 when I got pregnant (unplanned). I didn't gain much until the last 3 months or so. I was 166 when I gave birth on Nov. 2nd, 2010. I lost it all within about 6 weeks. I did try to breast feed for a few weeks, but it wasn't working out.  I'm now 121. No secrets--so don't ask, just seems like I'm last on the food chain since having a baby. (he's my first and last, he consumes my every minute....if I don't get to eat, so be it)

Good luck to you with the rest of your pregnancy and delivery

I was about 180 when I got pregnant and gained a little over 30 pounds. I am at about 189 now and Lorelai is 7 months old. If I stay here I don't mind. I seem to be maintaining eating a normal diet. But if I ever get off my butt and start excersising, I am sure the last bit of weight will come off.
