Has anyone's doctor told them they are not gaining enough weight? I went in for my 32 week checkup today.  The baby is measuring fine and her heartbeat is strong but the doctor was stressed out because I haven't gained any weight in the last four weeks.   In fact, I lost four.  I feel like I am eating all the time but I am stressed out that I am not getting enough for the baby.

How many calories are you all eating?  I got pregnant 8 months post WLS accidentally, having lost 80 of the 100 pounds I needed to get to goal and have gained 7 since being pregnant.  (Well, I lost 5 more during the first trimester, but then gained 12 in the second, so a net of 7.)

I never in my life thought someone would be telling me I wasn't gaining enough weight.  Good lord!

I don't know from personal experience, but I have friends that were close to you in weight that didn't gain a single pound during pregnancy and their doctors were fine with it! They didn't have WLS. I think maybe its the stigma of the WLS that makes doctor worry? If you have a couple more pounds to lose, its common to not gain much. If baby is growing fine, I would think things are perfect! Less for you to lose post baby ;)

Hello... My story is similar to yours...  I was 3 months out from VSG when I got prego totally by accident. I was 190ish.... I am now 152ish and baby is on target as far as weight etc..  My doc isn't worried as long as the baby is growing (which he is).. So I think as long as your baby is growing everything is fine... I am 25 wks yesterday and still havent gained a pound.

Thanks for your responses!  I will try to relax but I just want a healthy baby!  I agree that most people including doctors don't understand WLS.

I'm 28 weeks and have had a net loss of 1 lb (I gain, then I lose).  My MD told me he wasn't worried as long as the baby was gaining weight.  He does frequent ultrasounds to make sure she is growing properly.  So far, no problem!

That's good to hear!  I am bummed that I am not getting frequent ultrasounds here...my BF and I were up in Alaska for the first trimester and got them all the time because I am having a "geriatric" pregnancy (I'm 37)  But here I haven't had one since week 20!  I'd feel better if they would measure her again that way instead of just measuring my bump.
