Baby Sitting Up

My son was top heavy too and like the previous poster's baby, he was late to sit up, but was walking independently a week before he was 9 months old.  I'm sure he is just fine.
My daughter (twins) sat up on a "normal" schedule, but did not walk independently until she was almost 11 months old.  They are all on their own schedules.  :)

ETA  I posted this response after doinitRNY 's response, but it showed up before hers. (?)  Sorry for the confusion.

My son was close to 7 months before he sat up without slumping over.  He took forever to roll over or sit up, but took his first steps at 8.5 months, running soon after.....I haven't been able to stop him since!  They really do take their own time with things. :)
