Low carb (<40g) while TTC? Low calorie?
Hi guys, I'm almost 6 months out & have been cleared to TTC due to my age (40). I eat less than 40 grams of carbs a day & I was wondering if I can still get pregnant eating this kind of low carb, high protein way? Has anyone on this board gotten preggo doing low carb? Also, I eat 600-800 calories a day. I was wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant eating such low calories? Thank you for any advice.
I am 5'4... HW= 262, SW = 226, CW = 149.4 GW= 135?

I've searched around, but I can't find any studies that actually say that ketosis is harmful while pregnant. Do you have any sources you could point me to?
Before my bypass I struggled with PCOS and went thru fertility. I used the insulin resistant diet. That seems to be the way that even now my nutritionist leans towards...the whole is you eat 7g of protien you should eat 15 g of carbs..they balance eachother out. I agree you do NOT want to go into ketosis..very dangerous not only for you, but for the baby! Good luck!
