My Birth Story -

Hey Ladies!! Well it has been quite a journey these past few days. My birth story is not that action packed and quite short actually. I was scheduled a c-section so no real news there.

My husband and I arrived to the hospital at 10:30am on Friday the 25th and we were scheduled a csection at 12:30pm. Well they prep me and off I went into OR. They pulled Hayley out and unlike my previous c-section with my son Tyler they put a mirror up so I can see them as they pulled her out and I lost it emotionally. I was so overwhelmed with joy as they pulled this fragile little girl out. I was in tears when I heard her cry. I'm crying now just thinking of that moment. They cleaned her up a bit and brought her by my face while I was still lying down and there I was a very proud mom of a very little girl. My husband got to cut the cord this time, as last time they asked him to do it he declined out of fear. He said since this was our last one he was going to get over the fear and cut the cord...and so he did with his eyes all wet with tears.

I spent a glorious 3 and 1/2 days in the hospital and was eager to go home and start our new life. I'm so tired and now finding it chllenging to take care of a 3 year old and a newborn. I guess my challenge is this. Tyler is begining to show a little jealously and he seems to resent me. He won't play with me and doesn't even talk to me. When I try and initiate conversation or play with him he's disinterested. He was a mama's boy and I feel like I'm loosing my best friend. What should I do? He at first was fascinated with the baby, now he doesn't want to see her. That saddens me.

Pics attached..I'll take some better ones later, but here's what we took while in the hospital.

Okay I'm smiling from ear to ear..thanks Jessica!! The crazy part is the nurses in the hospital kept checking our bands when ever they brought her to me from the nursery to breastfeed. They kept thinking this baby is no way hers.. At first I was a bit thrown but biracial babies are often mistaken at birth. My husband thought it was funny. When Tyler was a baby we got that too. Thanks again sweetie and I'm just on cloud nine...in a little pain but definitely feeling blessed.

Aww, congrats Gina, she's beautiful and I'm so happy everything went well for you!

Advice for the issue with your son...you will probably want to make some mommy/son alone time that way he feels like he is still special to you and has your attention.  And I would just give him some extra lovin....hope that helps and congrats again Gina :)

Thank you sweetie!! I'm going to take your advice, which will come in handy this weekend. My husband has military drill and it'll be just me, Tyler and the baby. I'll have him to myself, I'll make him my little helper which will make him feel included. Thanks again

I just wanted to say your family is beautiful.  I wish I had more advice on the sibling issue- but my lil was was 1 1/2 when sissy came home.  We did the typical make sure they got alone time with us, and made it as much like normal as possible.  We also didn't permit people to visit and fussy about the baby.  For example, they came while older kiddo was at daycare or if they visited they had a little something for them both.  We invited her to help do little things to help, like picking up toys is a big help for mommy. I am sure he'll be a momma boy again real soon.

Thanks Jenn!!! You make some great points and I'm going to definitely do a better job at making sure that Tyler and I have our alone time too.
