Can someone make me feel better???

Sage has a little cold.  She needed a nap, she was exhausted and couldn't sleep because her nose was stuffed up.  We have the humidifier going and the vicks baby plug in in the wall.  Well I needed to use the aspirator.  She hates it.  I had to hold her head down, I went to suck one side and she pulled her arms away and slammed the thing up her nose.  She legit screamed for 3-4 minutes.  I feel like a terrible mom.  Could I have damaged anything??  It didn't bleed but she was in pain for sure.  She was up for about 15 minutes after that then feel asleep.  Anyone with medical back round know if I could have damaged something? 

Awww.  I'm sure she's fine.  I can't answer the question about damage but I can recommend a different device.  We use the Nose Frida (google it).  It was hard to wrap my brain around it at first but it's completely sanitary.  You'll know what I mean if you look it up.  Anyway, there's no way for it to go into the nose and it's MUCH more effective than those bulb things.

Yah...grossed me out but it works so much better.  They sell them on Amazon...replacement filters too.

Awww so sorry no blood so she is probably ok. I hate those aspirators. We also use the Nosefrida and love it. So simple and no worries of it going up their nose. I spray a little saline into the nostril and then suck away.

I agree I am sure she is fine. Bella HATED getting her nose saline and sucked!!! Don't do it to many times a day just a few b/c there sinus' will swell. I jus****ched the video for that nose thing and almost puked! Someone commented does the snot go in the mom's mouth!! HAHA IDIOTS!! We love our kids but we are not eating there snot! I may get one for Bella's next cold! Relax Sage is just sick and cranky give it some time!

I'm only a nurse, but there's no way she could have slammed the aspirator hard enough into her nose to do damage. She could have a ruptured a little vessel close to the surface, but she'd have had a bloody nose. The sinuses open up, so there's nothing in the way there to get damaged either. If you notice trouble breathing through her nose (aside from the cold), call her pediatrician...I'm sure she's fine

thanks ladies, she took a 3 hour nap and seems fine now, eating a string cheese stick and watching imagination movers.

I have to use them at work and some kids do great, but most fight like CRAZY!!! I'm sure she's fine. It probably even helped her sleep better!!!
