Newly pregnant, VSG almost 4 yrs ago
So just a quick history,.....I am 39 years old, had the VSG on Aug 2007, Tummy tuck and breast reduction June 2009, and am newly pregnant (7 weeks).
The pregnancy was a big surprise for the family, we have a 9 year old who took us 5 years to conceive after a few miscarriages. No pregnancies after him either, we really thought that was it, at least we had one blessing. Especially turning 40 later this year, I said : " No way, I'm too old to have anymore children", was okay with the idea that my son would be an only child. So after not feeling like myself for a a few weeks, and being a day late, I knew something was up. 4 home preg. tests, and 2 blood test later revealed the obvious, baby on board.
I have so many concerns about the wls and pregnancy. I guess my biggest concern is that as the baby grows and everything pushes upwards, does that some how compresses your sleeve? Right now, because of my tummy tuck, things are starting to squeeze upwards. I have a flat lower abdomen, but have "lost" my waist line. Things are starting to feel squished inside, even causing me to get full quicker, but once full I still am starving. I know, I sound crazy!
Please chime in, would love to hear from you.
Congratulations Jessie!!! Nice surprise .
You are post-op enough to have a very normal pregnancy!
What I remember about you from the VSG forum is that you were gaining and were upset about it and that you were a "shorty". (I am sorry if I am wrong - forgive me!) So I would say to you continue to watch what you eat and keep exercising. There is no need to overeat when we are eating good nutritious foods. That eating for two is not like years ago when woman would go crazy eating all in the name of "pregnancy". Overeating and Overweight makes us sick period especially during a pregnancy. Especially when we are of advanced maternal age (35+), I'm in that category too! I am also Latina. Which brings me fears of diabetes and high blood pressure. We have to take good care of ourselves so that we have healthy babies and are able to care for them.
The issue with you is your height and TT - both of which you and your baby will overcome. My friend 4'10 seemed to have very little space for her baby so, Tabby seemed to assume a horizontal position. She stretched her out though. Your baby will grow by all means necessary so bring on the bucket of cocoa butter!
(((Big Hugs)))
Many Blessings,
Leila
