23 Weeks and Cramping update

Hi ladies,
So when I called the doctor, they wanted me to come in pretty quickly. So, I went in and saw a nurse practitioner as the doctor was at a delivery. Most importantly, the baby is fine. Her heart is beating strongly, and she was a wiggle worm. That's what I was worried about!
Turns out that my vagina is thinned out and has begun to prolapse, which means it can't support the weight of either my bladder or the baby. This lack of support has led to my back pain and the cramping/cervical pain. For now, the nurse said there is nothing they can do.
I have an appointment with the doctor for my 24 week on Monday, and will find out more then.
I'm pretty upset. I'm sad that I'm falling apart, I'm sad that I will have to be so uncomfortable for the next howevermanymonths, and I'm sad that this might affect whether or not I can have another baby. I'm just sad.
I have no idea what the doctor will say Monday in terms of limitations, either. I'll let you know.

Well, glad your little peanut is ok.
Why can't they schedule you sooner than Monday? If someone told me my nether regions couldn't support the weight of my baby, I would be demanding some answers. As in the next day or so. They cannot just tell you something like that and have you go on your merry way. Did they recommend bed rest in the meantime? I'm sorry, I can't even imagine how frustrated you must feel. Maybe you can transfer to a high-risk OBGYN to get better answers and advice? Good luck and I hope they figure out how to help you soon ! (((hugs))))

Thanks for your concern. She really didn't seem that concerned at all. I already had the Monday appointment, so I'm just keeping that. I mean, there's nothing they can do to fix it right now, and my cervix is high, firm, and closed, so the baby isn't in any danger. So, its really not an emergency or high risk I don't think. I'll know a lot more Monday.
Thanks again. :-)

I will keep you in my thought.....the baby will be ok TMI but if I look right up in my hum hum LOL I can see my bladder as well.About a week ago I could feel it when I peed and wiped. The same as you though everything is fine its just the weight as the doctor said on the small framed body.

I will keep you in my prayers as I do ever night to pray for healthy babies!

May my Angles rest in peace.....

My roomie is also preggers and having prolapse. The dr said that there really is nothing to do at this point. You can have more babies but they wont do surgical interventions until you are done with having them. They did nothing to make her high risk.

I hope that helps ease your mind some. It may not be the same for you but i thought something might help.

I had much the same issue with the triplets, it was uncomfortable and I had to be careful to not strain myself, but it did not change anything with the babies, HUGS, I hope you get some answers and your mind eased on Monday.
