any hindsight advice for me?

hello everyone, I am doing a little research, so to speak, about pregnancy after WLS.
I had gastric bypass in May 2010. everything went well, and I've had no negative issues or side effects. so far I've lost about 80 lbs, and I want to lose a little more, enough to go down 1-2 more clothing sizes, to consider myself at my goal.

we also want to have another baby. we have a 5 yr old daughter. I know I need to wait at least 12-18 mths post surgery. so I've been thinking late this year, or possibly early next year, would be a good time to start trying, assuming I have reached and maintained my goal weight/size and everything else is going well. I've set some other more specific goals for myself that I feel I need to reach before letting this happen, such as going minimum 3-4 months with no big breaks in exercise routine and vitamin-taking, which are two things I have a problem with currently.

so my question is kind of broad and directed to anyone out there who is pregnant after having WLS... if you have any advice for me in this timeframe, if you could go back to before you conceived knowing what you do now and do something a little differently, what would that be?
and how are you doing? is pregnancy after WLS dramatically different from pregnancy before? I had a pretty rough pregnancy with my daughter, I had HG for anyone who is familiar with that... basically I threw up several times a day, every day, for about 7 months of the pregnancy. I was pretty miserable. I've read there's no guarantee that it will (or won't) happen again in another pregnancy, but of course I'm a little anxious about the possibility of going through that again, especially when I already won't be able to eat as much as a "normal" person.

Go to the dentist and make sure everything is good. Being pregnant can make any minor problems suddenly become huge..and they dentist can't fix it completely while preggers. You might know this already since you have a little one already.

That's the only thing I would change. I don't know the difference of preggers before WLS and after since this is my first. But basically WLS has had no impact on my treatment by my OB. I can eat waaayy more being preggers than before preggers with my sleeve. Kinda scary but reading around here says it is normal and returns back to normalish afterwards.

be the healthiest you can be... make sure you levels are good.. and that you can actually eat enough and hold onto enough calories to make it thru healthy and you not be deficant in anything.

I agree with the dentist ...after my bypass my teeth that were perfect started falling apart and now that I am pregnant they are worse. I by no means planned on getting pregnant..it was the farthest thing on my mind...but be sure that you are eating right. I have an eating disorder from the bypass and I really do not eat well enough to be pregnant..only ahve gained about 13lbls...good luck!

thanks you guys. I hope you all have smooth and healthy pregnancies! I know I really need to work on taking my vitamins regularly. last time I had my bloodwork done, at about 6 mths post-op, I was fine with everything. I also give blood regularly and so my iron gets checked. I've been going to the dentist and so far only minor stuff like a couple of tiny cavities. I know those little ones can really suck the good stuff out of you though! ;) that's how it was for my first (before surgery) pregnancy, since I was puking constantly and not keeping down any food or vitamins, the baby was leaching what she needed from me and I was just weak and miserable all the time... but she was just fine and plump and healthy! this will be my first actually planned pregnancy ;) so I feel like I should use this prep time to be sure I'm really ready (although I know that may be a tad impossible). I'll keep your tips in mind and if anyone else has anything else to say, please do!
