Dang, that's what I was afraid of...there is absolutely nothing wrong with Medicaid...goodness, it's there for a reason and some people truly need it and do not abuse it.

(I have a cousin who purposely popped out kiddos, married and illegal, and chose not to work -at her dad's instruction-so that she could get more government assistance) Ugh.

But it's the darn doctors who let it cloud their morals and it is very disappointing to hear that you happen to be the recipient of one of those doctors. I know they are present in every profession...no one should have to deal with that and I'm sorry that you are going through it.

You're doing a great job and keep up the good spirits. Just remember, Kharma, it catches up to those who deserve a big 'ol bite in the arse!!!!!!!!!   LOL

HUGS!!!!!!!!!

Thanks girl! I hear ya there and I wish more than anything that I still had my insurance from when I lived in Texas and worked for the City government. My coverage and all was great and I had excellent care. I think the thing that irks me is that these doctors choose to take part in practices and they can choose to be Medicaid recepients or not. It irks me because regardless of the amount they may receive from Medicaid- they are getting paid for the most part and it's not Medicaid recipient's faults but yet they treat the patients that way.

I totally agree and I just cannot wait for it all to be over LOL I have loved being pregnant, but I am ready freddy!! :)

And trust me I hear ya on the abuse part. I've been getting the ****ty stick from a certain family memeber because I'm on Medicaid. The sad part is she has a sister who had a baby almost 4 years ago and they just cut her off of Medicaid in the middle of last year. She was one that slipped through the cracks and got away with having coverage for 3 years after she wasn't supposed to and now she's calling everyone in the family and whining about how she can't get it anymore. It's beyond annoying!!!

Kerri,
In your state, does Medicaid work with other health plans? In NY, they work with Affinity, GHI and a few others. It cost nothing to switch over and those big insurance companies are usally accepted at the better health care facilities. Try to research it online. HTH.

Chelle,

They do in fact work with several different HMO Insurance plans, but down here it is just out of control. There is such a high ratio of illegal immigrants that they are letting get on Medicaid because they are pregnant with what will be born American citizens. I switched to an HMO in my 3rd month to try to get in with a different provider because I've never been with a group practice and always seen a particular dr (well, this was my case in texas and in pennsylvania). However, it was a constant struggle with them. They wanted everything pre-approved  and even my prenatals weren't covered without pre-auth. I figured all I needed was to have some insurance for the baby and I until he's born, so I switched back to regular Medicaid. Funny thing is now if I had stayed on the HMO plan, my son's circumcision would have been covered, but I had to pay out of pocket 185.00 (up front before delivery) to have this procedure done. SC has cut covering circumcisions on babies because they feel it is unnecessary and they're trying to cut costs. It's crazy here!
