It's not Friday but I'm IRKED!!
So, I'm venting and I apologize before hand, but I am highly irritated about everything and anything in the past few days and this is just the icing on the cake.
Well, today was my 38 week visit. I was scheduled with the one dr in the practice that I haven't much cared for in the beginning. She was the one at like 28 weeks who said a gain of 11lbs at that point was more than I needed. All the other Drs and the NP in the office have been terrific with me. But NOT her and I get her today!! So, I lost 4lbs (after my supposed weight gain of 6lbs in one week) and was feeling better about that knowing I was going to be seeing her. She walks in asks why I'm having a cervical check...GEE I dunno u tell me! I just did what I was told. Then, she checks me says oh fingertip, well, 1 1/2. Same as last week. Anything else? NOPE!!! She listens with the doppler then tells me he's butt up and that's a problem. Tells me to clean up, looks at my sheet, says my BP was slightly high, so she wants me on my left side laying down. I do. Wait for the nurse, she comes in, I ask what my BP was...she tells me 120/82...are you friggin KIDDING me?? That has been my normal throughout this pregnancy! And that was the end of my check up.
Where has patient care gone??? Seriously?? I'm a FTM who's a little over a week a way from my due date...could it have killed her to have spoken to me like I was a human and not just a patient she HAD to see today cus they put me on her schedule!???
All I can say is I'm glad I got to choose my Dr and my induction is scheduled with the dr of my choice on March 1st. I just hate having the feeling like I earned my paycheck now have a nice day! It's really not that hard to sit down and talk to your patients and even taking the time to just acknowledge their fears...UGH Grrrrrr
Is there anyone out there who had the baby be butt up towards the end and he turned or am I destined for c-section land???
Sorry I had to get it out somewhere!!

I too am totally pissed off with my doctor, today I went in to get my B12 shot and I told her I have been having diarrhea for the past three days and I am having trouble eating or drinking, she looks at me like I'm doing this to myself and says " you should go and drink some Powerade or something like that" so I then reminded her that they make me very sick and throw up , she then said that was crazy b/c I'm not intaking anything I should be fine with the sugar intake of just them !!!! I am so freaking mad I just said ok and goodbye, if I have anymore issues I am going to go to the hospital and they can deal with me. I could not believe her attitude !
Thanks Chelle! I thing I'm even more confused than ever. The only thing I can think of is that she means he's head down ,facing my back, but he's straight up and down with his back against my stomach versus the optimal position of him being head down with him on his side with his legs to the left side of my body instead of my right. I'm going to try some of the rocking positions they mention and so forth, but he's not sunny side up, so I'm just as confused as I was when we were in the office. Unfortunately, she owuldn't give me the chance to ask her one question to clarify this...
And Amen to it being almost over with! I don't have to see this Dr ever again and as far as I'm concerned that's the best case scenario. They said I could have chosen as early as the 28th for my induction, but once I saw she was the Dr for that day...ummm no thanks...and I'll go for it on my due date. That works better for me and is with one of the only doctors who took the time to talk to me during my appointment with her last time. I've only seen the actual Drs 1 time now. Go figure!

Just asking for the sake of asking...what kind of insurance do you have?
Do you have a group plan through your hubby or do you have Medicaid?
I'm curious if the bad customer service is coming from those with Medicaid because dr's offices may feel a certain way towards that type of insurance....
Like I said, no biggie, just curious.
Thanks

Jes,
I am on Medicaid right now. I hate being on state medical assistance and I have dealt with not having our own independent insurance, but I needed it for this situation while being pregnant and making sure baby and I got some medical care. Also, my husband switched jobs in July and we're not eligible for health insurance through his wor****il he's been there 9 months. I absoloutely feel like this one particular doctor has an issue with patients who are on Medicaid. She's a younger doctor who has an attitude like she has better things to do than deal with us Medicaid patients. I am part of a group practice, but I also know that all the other doctors have treated me decently. Even the ladies in the front office are pretty decent, but this dr is by far an exception.
No problemo!
