Soy formula predicament update
Just wanted to post an update on my soy formula delima. Last week I decided to wean my son off the soy to regular formula. No, I didn't discuss it with the pediatrician. (for those who don't remember, Gage was put on soy because my mom, my two sisters and I are all lactose intolerant and when he was born, he was seemingly having bad stomach pains after eating while we were still in the hospital. Upon dismissal, the pediatrician said use soy since it has no dairy.) After hearing/reading a lot of negative stuff about soy formula and boy babies, I got worried. I'd really like him to be able to handle dairy too. Anywho...
I used 3/4 soy and 1/4 regular for 2 days, then 1/2 and 1/2 for 2 days, then 1/4 soy and 3/4 regular for 2 days. Today is the first day of full regular formula. My son has had three 6 ounce bottles today and so far, so good!! YAY!!
Also---he has slept all night (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.) the last two nights. He was waking for a feeding at about 2:30/3:00 a.m. I wonder if the regular formula is more satisfying, or if it's just a coincidence?
Thanks for listening!!
