poll (everyone under 20 weeks)
Usually until 30 weeks you will see the doctor every 4 weeks. Then increases to every two weeks.
I understand the fear of the unknown, I have been there, done that too many times to count. Try not to get so stressed honey. I am on bedrest not because of anything physical, but because I stressed myself out so much that now I cannot walk around block without contracting. Deep breaths, meditation, anything to help you calm your mind and body!

Once at 5 weeks to confirm, a week later (because I was bleeding) and my 10 week checkup is in 10 days. I've had 2 ultrasounds.
I know you are very worried that something is wrong. You are past the1st trimester which is when most MC's happen. If there is something wrong, your body would be telling you by bleeding or bad cramping. You really need to talk to the dr at your OB or the office manager and explain (nicely) that you had major malabsorbtion surgery 3 weeks before concieving. Tell them you have lost 100lbs in 4 months and are worried that the baby may not be getting enough nutrient**** them (nicely) with the facts and maybe they will be more accomodating. Calling and acting hysterical probably won't work.
Good luck.

I have to agree with the other ladies here...you need to try to find a way to relax yourself. The added, un-needed stress is not good for you or the baby. Most pregnant women go to their OBs once a month and some aren't even seen nowadays until they are at least 8-9 weeks along. I went once a month and I assure you it is VERY nerve wracking not to be able to know every second of every day, but it is more and likely something every pregnant woman experiences. I didn't have my visits increased until my third trimester. I go weekly and even now I still feel uneasy every now and again when he varies from his normal pattern of movement or if it seems like it's too long in between. Just try to take a few deep breaths and let the process work itself out. As hard as it may be, you need to relieve some of your stress and not worry so much. Best of luck and hope you're feeling some relief soon! :)
I have many issues while pregnant. Not the surgery but clotting issues. Miscarriage issues. Precancerous cells. My pregnancy last year I went every 3 weeks the whole time. I hated it because it just made me stress more. Now I have gone every 4 weeks and I feel much better about it. I am also now having twins and they asked if I would like to come in more often. I said no. There was no need in it at all. Nothing they can do if something will happen. This with me taking nightly blood thinner shots. I had labor stopped a week ago. I know if there is an issue I go in. If things are going along then my life is much easier and stress free without tons of appointments.

I saw my doctor every 4 weeks until I was 36 weeks, then I moved to bi-weekly and at 38 weeks I was to go to weekly, but I had the baby at 39 weeks, so I did not get in for my weekly appointments. With the Doppler thing., I was 12 weeks and they could not find the HB. I had dropped down to 170lbs, so I did not have a lot of padding in there or a panni at that. I then went in for my 16 week appointment and again, they still could not find the HB. Then they did a bedside U/S and I got to see the HB and the baby move around. So to stress out about it this early on, you should redirect your time and find ways to keep your mind off of it. I think every women has the fear that they will have a problem with their pregnancy. It does not help that the early pregnancy signs are a lot like you are starting your period, so you will have that fear throughout the first trimester. Then you will go through different things. All of a sudden you are there holding your baby and then comes the real fears! GL, and relax.
My health insurance doesn't start until March 1st and 12/14 was the first day of my last period. So I am 9 weeks and don't go until March 1st. Sad but I am one of those uninsured Americans, just thanking the Lord I got this insurance.
Did have an HcG test around the 5 week mark and it was like 64,000...and my blood type is A + so they are ok with me coming in 3/1...my ob flat out told me she wouldn't see me until I was 9 weeks
