So I had to have an ultrasound today as I have been on insulin for GD...the baby is measuring a week behind which they have no problem with since most diabetics have bigger babies.  She is 4lbs 5 oz which puts her in the 37th percentile.  Everything else was great.  BUT....they want me to start going weekly for ultrasounds...my doctor did not say this, but the doctor at the U/S did...then she would like me to go 2x a week when I get to 36 weeks..any thoughts?  I of coarse will be calling my OB tomorrow monring to see of this is necessary, but just wanted all of your thoughts!

That's pretty standard care for women with GD and/or PIH. Basically any condition that may effect the growth of the fetus is something they want to monitor closely.

I know it seems like a huge hassel and maybe you and your OB can come to some compromise (like once every 2 weeks, or whatever if baby continues to look good on u/s), but their stance is "better safe than sorry".

Good luck.
