OB confirmed today....pregnant
I posted last week after I got a postive pregnancy test. I tested every day after the positive one and got 4 negative pregnancy tests, so I thought I was in the clear.
On Valentine's Day, with my period still a no-show I did another test and it came back positive. The 4 other tests I did came back positive, too.
Called my OB, who saw me today. Ran my Beta HCG and will go back Thursday for my next draw. I now have to talk to my surgeon who I will see for my 1 year follow up next week, and my endocrinologist. I had a total thyroidectomy 11 years ago and after my bypass my levels have been wonky. She is deferring to my endocrinologist because of my recent history of being hypothyroid one month and hyperthyroid the next.
I feel like I"ve been hit by a mack truck. The constant peeing and the dry heaves. I don't get anti-nausea pills unless I can't keep my food down. So far, so good.
I don't want anyone to think that I don't want to be pregnant; I'm very happy. However, I prided myself on following directions and 1218 months was the time frame. I know I'm close to 12, but I still feel like I'm going to get yelled at next week at my 1 year follow up.
I've never been pregnant before, so I would appreciate any advice you have.
Thanks for your time.

Congrats! You did nothing wrong, don't worry. There are ladies here who have gotten preggo weeks out of their surgeries. At least you are healthier now than a year ago. Now you have 2 things to be proud of :)
There are a lot of topics you will learn about here if you go back and read the threads...as far back as 500 pages. I occasionally flip through posts from over a year ago when I have the time. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. Everyone is very helpful & supportive.
Congrats again!

Life happens. I think your doctors will simply have to alter your course of treatment during the pregnancy and then you can back to your (amazing, by the way) weight loss post-pregnancy. For now, it is all about your nutrition and the baby's
When I was not eating much because of my morning sickness, my doctor advised me to simply take in calories in the first trimester. Eatiing anything is better than nothing.
I too have the dry-heaves and they are brutal! Make sure to keep your tummy somewhat full all day long. Small, snack sized meals work best for me.
Good luck!

Congrats and welcome. I'm sure your dr won't beat you to death. Though you didn't quite make the 12-18 months...you came very close and that's better than so many others manage to wait, for whatever variety reasons

Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it. I'm still kinda in shock. My goal for today is to keep pushing fluids and to find a bra to sleep in. Last week, I was wearing my bras on the first hook, today they are too tight on the last hook. And all of them have underwire, so they are killing my ribcage.
Congrats!!! I wore sports bras to sleep in the entire time I was pregnant. I just got a 3 pack of cheaper ones from Wal-Mart. I made sure to get a big size because I didn't want to be constricted while I slept, I just wanted a little support. They were great. Here is the link to what I bought.

P.S. I got pregnant just over a year post op. The doc was OK with it because I had been the same weight for several months. You will be absolutely fine!

Mommy to 2 of the most beauiful little girls in the whole universe and still in love with my hubby of 8 years. LIFE IS GOOD!
Congrats!!!! Definitely sports bras to sleep in. Tried nothing, but OMG, the 7-8 times I got up in the middle of the night to pee, I thought I was gonna cry b/c they hurt so bad when I moved. Don't worry about not being 12 months. I was 9 months and cried in my surgeons office. He laughed and said, "don't worry.......we'll take care of you and the baby!" and they did. best advice is to stay hydrated. I didn't do that with DD and ended up getting IV fluids a lot. Drinking is much more important than eating at this time. Well, I mean, eat what you can, but definitely get in the fluids.
