OH NO!!!! (updated)
I just found out that our donor received a cease to manufacture sperm donation order a couple of months ago! In fact, the cease to manufacture order was sent to our donor on 11/1 and we inseminated a couple of weeks after that. I think he still did it because he was appealing the process. Now his appeals were denied as of 2/7. So I'm NOT a happy camper! It looks like our donor can no longer donate!
HOLY POOPIES!!! I'm going to ovulate on March 5th and what... now we need to rush and find another donor? POOOOOOOPIES!!!
UPDATE: OK... I guess my donor is still making donations. He just emailed me about scheduling the dates in March. UM.... Maybe he's just doing it on the downlow now. I don't know... but all i can say is that I am not liking this emotional rollercoaster. Sheesh... imagine when i'm pg again!

I'm sorry you're going thru this :(
I'm not familiar with the sperm-donor-lingo... for some reason, I thought you had a donor you knew who was just privately sharing his, uh, stuff....
But now that I read your post, I'm figuring out that you are going through a service, right?
So, what does this mean? This guy "over-donated" and they don't want like 20 babies from the same sperm?
I have no idea how involved a process it is to choose another donor but would it be possible to line up another donor you and DW are happy with before you ovulate??
I really hope something falls into place for you before then-- I will be crossing my fingers for you! Keep us updated!

Well, I know nothing about this. I am glad you got it straightened out though. But I would still be curious why he was "ordered" to stop manufacturing sperm. I hope it had nothing to do with a health issue or anything like that. Is there a way you can find out for definite? Or ask him?
This is really interesting....did you ever meet him face to face or is it just like a computer profile? (m thinking of the movie "Baby Mama" which is my only encounter with AI.) Sorry if I'm being too nosy :) Good luck to you ladies!

I know when I was looking at donors it was a location thing. If someone donated too much in one area they stopped making that donor open to selection. I didn't get past the looking up the donor lists though so not sure when you actual have picked someone and everything.
I am hoping regardless of this donor or a new one you get what you need in time and have a sticky bun!!

LMAO - I'm sorry Maryn - I'm not laughing at you...I pray things work out for you one way or the other...I'm just laughing at the thought of a court actually issuing a 'cease to manufacture sperm' order. Uh....yeah...unless you castrate him, that's not going to happen....and if he's manufacturing it and you're in needed of it...unless there's a health reason behind not 'using' it...I don't get the purpose of the order. Maybe I'm slow.
Good luck getting it straightened out. You've still got about 2 1/2 weeks to either figure out what's up with him or find someone new. Don't know if it's possible to find someone new that quickly...but I hope so!
(walks off still snicker at a 'cease to manufacture sperm' order....)

Oh no is right! I am sorry! I hope everything gets worked out by the 5th! Fingers crossed. I don't know much about the donation process, but I am sure you are on it. I know from your posts how much you were gunning for a conception in early March... I am thinking of you!
