OMFG.....I think I'm pregnant!

I've been feeling out of sorts for a couple of weeks.  I thought I just had really bad PMS because of horrible cramps and bloating.  My friend works in a OB-GYN office and gave me a few pregnancy tests to check.   I took one yesterday, negative.  Took another today on a whim....POSITIVE!!!

I think I'm supposed to test again in a couple of days to make sure this is correct, but if it's true I'm scared to death!  I'm only 11 months out.  This was not planned.  I have no idea what to do.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

It's pretty rare to get a false positive.
Grats!

I was only 9mo post op when I found out I was pregnant, HUGE surprise. Now my little "surprise" is due anyday. It's been a very easy pregnancy and in total I've gained 18 lbs.

As far as advice- find a WLS friendly OB, get your labs done asap to see if you need any additional vitamins and RELAX.

((hugs))

Right now I'm in complete denial.  I truly believe this is a false positive.  I guess I will find out next week if my period doesn't show up.  I didn't realize that bad cramping was a sign of pregnancy.

I'm going to call my OB on Monday if I get another positive test this weekend.  She knows about my bypass and has a plan if I did get pregnant.

Geez....i'm at a complete loss.

Breathe!  You're going to be just fine.  PG after WLS is usually suggested to occur at least 18 mos post-op.  HOWEVER, It happens a lot more often within the first year.  There ar many women on this board who got pg within the 1st year and their pregnancies, babies, and themselves were just fine.  Many of these women were using some form of birth control and they still got pregnant.

You've already lost a lot of weight and a big ole CONGRATS to you for that!

I agree with a previous poster... get a current full set of labs done to check your vite/nutrient levels.  You'll be fine.  A baby is a miracle. Congratulations and I wish you the very best.

Congratulations...although, I know you're freaking out right now. I did too when I found out I was pg at 6 months out. I am now 15wks pg and everything is going well, save some morning sickness. Try to stay calm and like everyone said, get your labs in order. Someone else posted today about their pregnancy early out too (http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/postop_pregnancy/4318155/7 -months-post-op-1-month-pregnant-HELP/)...there are several of us out there. Here's wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy! :)

I took another test this morning and it was negative.  So, if my period doesn't show up this weekend as scheduled, I'll take another test next week and call my doctor.
