Headaches/migraines

AHHHHHH can't take the pain no more.
Ok now that thats out of the way I've suffered from migraines since I was 6yrs old so I know what to stay away from and how to usually avoid them. However since I've become pregnant they have been so bad and so frequent. Last week it lasted for 3 days. I'm trying to still work but it's so hard. Sorry to vent but I'm just at my wits end with this pain.

Anyone else have this? Has anyone found something that works.

My Dr prescribed tylenol 3 but I found the codeine and the wls don't go together so well. She's also sending me to a neurologist but it could be awhile to see him.

I am probably one of the more extreme cases when it comes to migraines during pregnancy.  I had never, ever suffered a migraine before my 3rd pregnancy two years ago.  Then 2 years ago when I was about 14-15 weeks pregnant with my little guy, I started getting migraines that were basically one continuous headache day after day.

Unfortunately, when you are pregnant there isn't much you can take other than fioracet and percocet until you deliver.

I also went to a neurologist, and had a MRI, a CAT scan, a Spinal Tap, and Opthamolagist eye exam.

I can totally relate about trying to function with the headaches!  I basically lived on percoset until I delivered.  After I had my baby boy, the headaches did go away for 2 months, and then they came back with a vengence.  I am now on a daily preventative (fairly high dose), but after 16 months--I am finally getting some relief!

Good luck!  Just remember---you will make it through for that little one you are baking!

I have also suffered from Migraines since a very early age. My OB ended up prescribing me Fiorcet because I did not/could not take my regular meds. It is also a narcotic however it was to be used only in the really bad cases. It basically made me drowsy but did take the edge off and then I would just follow up with Tylenol.

Thanks ladies for the love today. It's been a really bad day. Did you find that the fioracet or percocet were habit forming? They are safe during pregnancy? I might have to ask for them to be able to cope. I can't aford to miss any more work. Oh me day lol.

OMG you poor lady 5 weeks I don't know what I would do. I think 3 days is bad enough. I couldn't imagine going that long. I'll pray for you too

Hi

Sorry to hear about the migraines they really do suck. I have had a migraine that has been around for the past 4 weeks. Some days are better than others but it's still there. When it's at it's worst I have lost part of my vision in my left eye, everything looks brighter and I get pins & needles down the left side of my face, neck and left arm.

I have only had this type of migraine when I was pregnant with my DD the hormones were causing it. My boys never did, if anything when pregnant with my boys it was the first time in my life that I would go for 9 months without a mirgrain.  Dairy is another one that causes mine. I have started to eat and drink it for Bug but I can't handle it at all. I take 2 Panadol with some coke to help mine. Doesn't get rid of it but lessens it heaps.

Best wishes

Unfortunately, all they can give you right now are Narcotics and YES! they are addictive. Watch out for rebound headaches too. Rebounders can happen with OTC medicines as well.

I usually have to take Percocet or Demerol for my Migraines.

Hope you find some relief. I know what you're going through!

I have had one that has lasted the past 5 weeks! It won't let up for the life of me! I got a prescription for something, but it does not work

Mine is from hypertension though, and I am praying it goes away after I have this little guy!
