Thanks so much ladies!  I actually have some Miralax that I'm going to start taking tonight and my DH is going to pick me up some Fleet enemas on his way home from work.  Thankfully, I have an OB appointment tomorrow as well so I can try to work something new out there.

Thank you all for taking time to respond...as horrible as this problem is, it's a little comforting knowing that I'm not the only one.

I have severe constipation issues anyway. That's just life for me. Miralax is a part of my every day routine and at double the recc. dose. It's hard for people to believe, but I know exactly what it's like to go weeks without a BM. I usually "top off" at 3 weeks then explode and end up with an anal fissure (sp?). Sorry, I know that's way TMI!
At that point enemas didn't even work for me, but I wasn't impacted - it just wasn't coming ...

Hope you find sme relief!

Oh I know how u feel. I had to go to the ER last month for an impaction and anal fissure. The pain is unbearable. Try eating pears and sitting on the toilet every morning to try to move your bowels. Also get a prenatal with a stool softener in it! Good luck.

Good advice, thank you!  So, when you went to the ER, what did they do to help you?  Just put you on a drip and give you an enema???

If she had an impaction so large that it was tearing her tissue (butt tissue not Charmin) then they would have to manually disimpact her. "Dig it out!"
