Panni/bellly issues

So I wrongly assumed that my already bad panni area would get a little "filled in" with the pregnancy. I thought oh the skin will get filled in as I get further along.

Oh boy was I wrong. It's actually much worse! I have the lovely basketball belly and then hanging below is a horrible panny. It's getting irratated no matter what I do/wear. I keep it dry and clean and still UGH. My husband told me today he sees the basketball for sure, but can also see the "apron"  ( I asked for the opinion he wasn't being mean haha)...

Is there anything I can wear to help this? SHape wear is out because of baby belly, but is there an alternative. Even in my maternity pants you can see where there is baby and where panni starts

Maybe the bellyband?  Or maybe a solution could be to look for longer empire wasted maternity shirts?  So sorry you're struggling with it. :(

Yeah I need longer shirts for sure when I go out, but the irritation happens no matter what I am wearing. I tried the belly band, and it holds up the "basketball"....the apron still hangs. I HATE it. I swear I wish I could convince my OB to do a panni removal at same time as my C section LOL

On the bright side, at least you have several kids to show for it....I've only got the one and I'm afraid my panni is gonna sag under my pg belly too! :(

There really is only so much that you can do about it unfortunately. Mine isn't quite that drastic... but then again, I am no where near goal. I did buy a tummy sleeve from Motherhood (otherwise known as a Bella Band) in black. (ps don't buy white I did and it only makes it look worse) It helps hide it some, but again... just a little bit of an improvement.

This is the time where we have to put on those big girl panties and say "Yes! I was huge! But now i'm healthy and I am having a healthy baby!" and go back to trying to hide it as much as possible later.

It does suck. good luck

Funny you mention the at goal thing, because I cannot imagine if I had lost to goal and then had this...It would be down to my knees!  (Sorry gross, but a sad reality lol)

Maybe I just need to stick with loose dresses until June  LOL

I hear yah there. Mine's pretty bad and I only lost ~100 lbs. not the 200 plus I need... I wouldn't have an apron I'd have a whole damn dress. LOL

I just thought about it. I also wear some long undershirts from Lanebryant that come down pretty far and help camoflauge (sp?) some stuff. they're lace trimmed so it kinda hides things. Maybe something along those lines might help.

I never made goal weight but did have quite a bit of excess skin...my  "panni" is pretty obvious as well. I have the nice HUGE baby bump...as it continues to grow/harden my panni seems to be growing together with it....but without clothes it is still VERY obvious.

I am 27 weeks now and it's pretty obvious that I will never have the "perfect" formed baby bump but I am grateful that she's healthy and that you can totally tell I am pregnant with a HUGE round mound of a belly hahaha!

It'll be okay...do you have any baby bymp pics that you could share? I bet you look better than you think you do! I think a lot of us have it ingrained in us that we look more out of shape than we actually do (okay I do anyway hahaha).

I think you are right. we are so ingrained with such negative body issues that sometimes we cannot really see things as they really are. I was looking at my baby shower pictures from my first pg. (7months out) and my shower in Jan and it's crazy how much thinner my face/neck/shoulder areas look even though I now weigh the same thing. I have to take the 'bump' pic for my records. I haven't yet but i need to ... maybe tomorrow. I took the one I have with Tristan at 38 weeks... so no more putting it off.

I was thinking maybe maternity jeans with the big stretchy top-band to kinda hold everything in??
I wonder if you could get insurance to cover a TT at some point down the line. I've heard if someone's belly overhangs enough to cause rashes or skin-breakdown, they often qualify.
Good luck!
