I am not trying to open a debate of if your little one should have earrings- just trying to find tips on how to keep them in their ears.  I have tried screw earrings, pressure ones (typical type), the type they pierce with...So I am thinking do I try to put something behind the back to keep it there- I remember in school people would put pieces of eraser there if they would drop their back in gym or something.  It doesn't seem that she is playing with them- I find them in her crib, they pull off when she takes her shirt off, sometimes they get stuck in her crazy curls.  Perhaps they are getting caught and pulling out-which in that case is good.  Just wondering what other moms do.  Thanks!

We took DD to get a pair from the tattoo and piercing shop. They have all kinds of options there. Maybe they will be able to tell you what would work best. With our situation it was a bit different, because her ears kept getting infected so we had to put stainless earrings in. But like I said lots of options.

You can buy packs of the little rubber "stops" to put on the backs of the earrings...I have to cut ours down so they stay on, because her ears are so little,  but they work pretty well. We only lose one here and there. I think you can get them at Walmart's jewelry counter, or places like Claire's.

Go to a tattoo/piercing place that offers surgical steel loops like captive bead rings. They're tricky to put on, but they will stay on!

My daughters doctor actually did hers, they use individual disposable guns for each ear with special earrings attached to them, those earrings stay in. After about one year my daughter had to have them taken out for a scan and I had the same problem you are having now that she is 4 she puts them in when she wants them and the whole never closed so it was nice...
