Oh, here I am with my first post on the pregnancy board and I'm biachin' about my husband. LOL.

You know, on the morning of my RNY 2 years ago, I drove myself to the hospital and went through the surgery and into my recovery room all by myself after surgery because he had to be at work. (of course, he did come by after work, but I checked in, went under, went to recovery, was placed in my room and woke up all by myself). Bitter? Me? Naaahhhh..... lol

And here I sit today, sick as a dog. I've been so dizzy for the past few days that I can't even drive, go grocery shopping, or even go to work. So, I mentioned to him last night that I think I need to see the doctor today. And what was his response? "Do you need some money?". UGH. No, asshole, I need you to take the day off and drive me to the doctor. Geez. Clueless. But he can't because he HAS to WORK.

So, needless to say, I've called my OB and told them what's going on with the Dizzyness and am waiting for a call back. (Honestly, I think it is a Paxil withdrawl thing because they switched me from Paxil to Effexor, but Whatever it is, it sucks and I can't fathom eating).

I'm already envisioning the delivery of this child... me and my 7 year old daughter arrive at the hospital.... and my husband shows up after work because he HAD to WORK. Oy Vey!

Other than that, Oh, Happy Day!!! I'm 8 weeks and happy to be expecting my 2nd youngin' :)

I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone....my husband is the exact same way. He's the type that always has to hurry and use up his extra vacation time at the end of the year because he NEVER misses a day of work. When I was working, if our son became ill, I had to be the one to take off of work even though my job was just as demanding. Now that I'm not working, his attitude about it is worse because his salary alone pays the bills. (He works on average 80 hours a week, more during busy seasons.) However, his mother passed away this last Christmas Eve and his attitude seems to have changed a little. He took off work to go with me to my first OB appointment. I was in shock! I hope it doesn't take a tragic event to help your guy rethink the value of life. My hubby isn't as extreme as yours, but I feel your pain on a level. :( Sorry to hear that and I hope it gets better.

You are definitely not alone there.  My husband didn't go with me for any of my WLS appointments and surgery.  He went to go visit his mother 1000 miles away during the time I had my surgery.  That being said, he did manage to go to 2 OB appts and was there for the csection. lol

My husband was totally all into our first chidbirth/pregnancy, but this one, he's like "meh, been there done that". what a mo.

He's a good guy, but he worries way too much about being "the only breadwinner" right now. Ever since the foreclosure/bankruptcy thing when I lost my job about a year and a half ago, he's been neurotic about always being "indespensable" at work - but we all know that we are all just disposable goods at any job. All I ever bring in from my contracting work is enough to buy groceries.

Its all good, we ladies know that we are the sane ones that really keep everything running behind the scenes. LOL. We just let these boys live in their own little illusions.

I will, however, beat his ass if he's not there for the next ultrasound Bwahahahhahah!!!
