Can't seem to lose after 9 pounder....
I'm three years out from surgery and had a 9 pounder 7 months ago. I gained about 50 lbs, and now can't seem to lose anything. I did the 5dpt and didn't lose a thing. I'm fighting head hunger and carb addiction again. I had to eat tons of crackers to combat my crazy nausea and heartburn. I had my thyroid checked and they said the levels are normal. I deal with extreme fatigue and live off coffee...i know i know....i do get lots of water too, but I have no appetite and only eat when my 5 yr old reminds me he hasn't eaten lol. I'm a single mom of two, so I don't have much time. Any suggestions would be great.
I haven't had my baby yet (next month) but I wanted to send you some encouragement.
The mommy books all say that it takes 9 months to put the weight on and 9+ to get it off.
You need to remember to focus on your own health for your kids. They are watching your eating habits, so take stock and put yourself back on a plan. Planned meals and healthy snacks. Not hungry... but it's been 4 hours, EAT a small meal.
My guess is that you're not losing weight because you're essentially starving yourself and your body is hanging on to everything it can get. Find the proteins that you enjoy and eat them. As for carbs (oh how I love carbs) there are some great whole grain, high protein options these days and I would bet you that your kids won't notice if you swap the healthy pasta for the regular spaghetti. (My husband didn't notice and now it's all we buy.)
Hang in there, eat breakfast, lunch AND dinner and be well!

Happy and healthy! What more could you ask for?
