PIH / Pregnancy Induced Hypertension & Early Delivery (Preemie pics)
I had an OB apt a week and a half ago. My BP was 140/95. I had PIH with my first 2 sons and they were premature. (Ethan was born at 37 weeks- the dr refused to deliver early despite his growth and my bp going up as high as 170's on most days, he was only 4lbs at 37 weeks. My 2nd son was born in the Army hospital and taken early at 34 weeks and weighed 3lbs -still small for his age). I am almost 32 weeks now and they are saying I have PIH again. I did a 24/hr urine and my protein was 328, up from the 288 that it was just weeks before. My OB said anything over 300 is PIH , some doctors say over 250, some over 350, whatever. So I have to go for fetal monitoring this week and tomorrow morning I have an OB apt with the head of OB at the Army Hosp to see if they are going to put me on bedrest or deliver my little man. The last OB I saw (on post you are lucky to see the same OB twice) said that she did not think putting me on meds (mag sulfate , the drug for high BP, or bedrest ) would be sufficient enough since it didn't work with the first 2. I am quite nervous. My lil' man, Gavin, should only be about 3/4lbs. They are going to do an ultrasound to find out for sure. I really hope I do not deliver early. I rather bedrest. Tomorrow I will only be 1 day shy of 32 weeks. My 2nd son , born at 34 weeks and weighing 3lbs 4oz, was lucky enough to have NO problems and came home 10 days later weighing only 3lbs. He was so tiny and so red. When my husband brought me a drink to the hospital, a large McDonalds sweet tea, I remember thinking , "OH MY GOSH! My drink weighs more than my son!" I was so lucky to have him come right home with no problems. I do not feel like I can be lucky again. I do not want to deliver tomorrow. Has anyone else had PIH problems? Did they induce you?
These are pics of my lil' Zach, 3lbs, I hope Gavin is a fighter as well....![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/angel.gif)

In his car seat...we had to put rolled up receiving blankets behind him to make it work, car seats are not equipped for 3lbs babies!

I LOVE MY PREEMIES!
Awww your pics bring back so many memories for me. My twins were born at 30 wks due to PIH and Pre-E. They were 2lbs 9oz and 2lbs 10oz and spent 6 wks in the NICU.
I know how scary it is to have a preemie, but it's amazing how well these tiny babies do. I hope they won't have to induce you so early. Hopefuly with bedrest your PIH will be undercontrol.
((Hugs))
Keeping you and your little one in my thoughts.

Thank you ladies! I just got out of the hospital today. They were going to induce me at the army hospital but decided to send me via ambulance to the hospital in town because the army does not have a NICU. The civilian hospital claimed there was NOTHING wrong with me and sent me home after 2 days. I am so upset. They told me I had low fluid (7cm , which is not terrible but 5 is considered bad), then they said my bp was around 138/80 and they consider 140+ high (HUH?), then my protein levels (for PIH) were 328 and they consider 350 high, my weight gain of 7lbs in one week (all water weight, had it with the first two, I look like an OOOMPA LOOMPA) is not severe enough, my sons growth is at 12% and 10% is bad...what the heck! The army is saying I am severe, and the civilian doctors said I am not bad enough. I am so frustrated.
