Drink a ton of water to stay hydrated. Immodium is safe to take but stay away from kaopectate or pepto-bismol- they both contain salicylates (aspirin) and are not ok during pregnancy.

Hope you feel better soon!

I've taken immodium while pregnant and have been fine. However, you might want to remember that this is your body's natural defense to get rid of bad guys. If it keeps up you may want to see your OB... might be viral and immodium will just keep the bad guys stuck in there so to speak. I would also recommend things like bannanas (if you can tolerate the sugar) or cheese maybe to try a more natural route.

I hope that you feel better asap. It's no fun being sick, especially preggers!

I am going through the same thing....my son came home from school early with this virus and I know it is going to make everyone sick....I hope its a short sickness bc I am full term and I do not want to deal with sick kids and a new baby.

I definitely wouldn't take anything...if you take something it is just going to take longer for it to get out of your system.  Just make sure you stay hydrated!!

My MD recommends the BRAT diet for diarrhea : Bananas, Rice, Tea and Toast.  Of course as a bandster, I can't tolerate rice at all and toast is tolerated only at times......so I can't really do this, but it may be of help to you.

Thanks everyone.  I am hoping it is just about done.  I seem to have bouts in the early morning hours.  This morning was pretty bad.  Hopefully no more.  I do have my monthly appointment with my OB tomorrow so if not better will discuss with her.
