how much have you gained...
I had the RNY 2 years ago and had lost 160 lbs..got pregnant unexpectidly in july and I was down to 168 lbs and now at a little over 29 weeks I have only gained 9ish pounds. I have had an eating problem since the surgery and they ahve now dx me with anorexia..even though I certainly don't "look" anorexic...

I found out I was pregnant at about 9 weeks. For the previous month or so I had not felt good and was nauseas, so for me it was because I was hungry so I ate. I knew I needed a fill so I did schedule that too. At my lowest I was 164, 14lbs from my supposed goal. I was to go have my fill on Sept 30. I found out I was pg on Sept 28...not convinced until the U/S convinced me otherwise. At my last appt I ws 203 :( I think I gained about 15 before I found out I was pg from eating too much and I think it came back so quickly because I was pg and my body was not stable or used to being at 164. My body automatically gains weight when I am pg in places that is not necesary...my hips and legs to name 2! I am 26 weeks pg this week. Unlike most of you lucky ladies, I can't exercise at all! I can do everyday walking and that's it, nothing more than what I would normally do, and to top that one off I am on COMPLETE pelvic rest.....yup you can all guess what that means. So, the final form of exercise that gives good stress relief I am not supposed to do either! I have complete placenta previa:( I am allowed to go swimming however I obviously can't be bleeding in order to do this.
This is my 3rd and final baby...not planned or expected, I have and IUD and was 1 month out from having my tubes tied. So for me (and I know all of us feel this way) it really is a huge mind F$%^ game. I unlike my first 2 pg which I enjoyed being pg, I think partially b/c I was fat so being pg gave me that "excuse" to eat, now I need to eat, but don't want to, obviously I do eat, and just see myself getting bigger and bigger:( I just can't wait to be done and deliver a healthy baby and be healthy again myself.

I delivered 6 weeks early a 5lb 15oz lil boy:) After spending 2 months on bed rest in the hospital and Mason spending 11 days in the NICU, we're both home and doing great! Mason is getting bigger and gaining weight like he should. Now it's my turn to lose this weight! It's tough to get back on the band wagon...I CAN do this!
Ok first of all... you need to not be embarassed about anything here. We are all in the same boat and very supportive...
Pre-op (RNY) I weighed 415 pounds. I am about 6' tall and built like a linebacker... i lost the weight around my shoulders, but they are still there. I am a big person... now I'll just be a skinny big person. :)
I got preggers with Tristan at 7 months out. I weighed 330 pounds. When I delievered my 9 pound 21" little man, I weighed 342. I dropped down to 325 and kinda stayed there. I will admit that I didn't get back on track after Tristan.
I ended up pregnant 8 months later.... so My 'official' starting weight at the OB was 325 (ugh! I know)... I am up to about 340~ish last week at the OB. I have been loosing and gaining the same 5 pounds every 2 weeks for a little while.
It is mentally unhealthy to stress about this while pregnant. I am in no way an expert here, but it's proven that stress is bad for the baby. I look at this way...
1. My tool is still there after this baby.
2. I have the will power and strength to loose it all again if I had to to help this baby be perfect.
3. you can eat healthy and your weigh gain shouldn't be rediculous while pregnant, especially with RNY since we still malabsorb.
4. I would gladly go back to my 415/ unhealthy self if it meant that it was best for my baby. I want them that badly. I lost 2 babies before RNY. No one ever told me that RNY would help me have children. No one even mentioned it, but it has and it will help me be the healthiest mom I can to my children.
5. I eat like crap now. I'll admit it. I am not recommending it, but I have. I am starting my 5 day pouch test the minute I can and I getting back on track as soon as Keiran's here. I had my surgery so that live a healthy active life with my husband. Now I get to include my little boys in that. I can't wait to teach them to ride a bike and to hike and be active children. So I have to be healthy and active too. I don't want them to ever have my weight issues... so I will teach them from birth to make healthy food choices.
That's just my 2 cents.
Good luck

I'm sooooo depressed...I just got off the scale and I weigh 267
I started at 242lbs and I'm almost 25 weeks pregnant (24wks and 5 days). I have gained 23 freaking pounds and I still have 15 weeks left. I'm terrified. I try to eat healthy but I am always hungry! I have to really get back on the ball once my baby is born!

Cayden Alexzandre born 4-20-2011 5lbs 1oz 18" long!!
This is something I fight myself with everyday. I had similar stats. I got down to 180-182 before I was pregnant. I found out when I was 5 weeks. I did great the first 3 months. Only gained 4 lbs total.. then the morning sickness stopped. Now I am up to 195 at 20 weeks. I actually might be a few lbs higher but I am dreading seeing it hit 200. I swore I would never get there again. To top it off... I have no baby bump. I had a fairly size panni that was flat-ish before pregnant. Now it just sorta filled out. So I dont even get to look pregnant.. I look fat!
What i console myself with is that my U/S shows the baby is right on track for size. That is all I am concerned about. With all the special tests and stress lately I just can't allow myself to be even more upset.
I have had friends who have never had a weight problem tell me they gained 50-60lbs. They lost it. You worked you tool before you can do it again..AFTER the baby.

I was 11 months post op when I got pregnant. 235 pre pregnancy weight - gained about 9 pounds total - baby is now almost 12 weeks old and I am down to 214. I want to lose about 50 more. I must admit I eat not so great but I do exercise. I got back to the gym 5 weeks after I had my son. I highly recommend breast feed if at all possible. This is what I attribute to my additional weight loss. It burns an extra 500 calories a day. Do not stress you will lose the weight. I was worried I wouldn't but some days feel like it is just continuing to fall off.

The moment I found out I was pregnant, I was counting calories. LOL.
I am currently 8w3d and before I got pregger I was anywhere between 175-177, I have actually lost weight and have been hovering between 172-174. Which I am shocked with because Ive been eating a lot of carbs.

I started out weighing 163 and I am now almost 32 weeks and I weigh 189. 26lbs so far. My OB wants me to gain 35lbs. I am scared about gaining so much , but I know it is for my lil' man and I am probably going to be having him in the next few weeks anyway. I think I have retained a lot of water weight in my legs (same place it hit me with my first two). It is strange though, with my first son I weighed 230 when I got pregnant and at delivery I weighed 240, 3 months later I was 190, I had lost a lot of weight after he was born by pumping milk every 2 hours. WIth my 2nd son, he was 34 weeks and I gained 25lbs. I lost over 20 by the time I came home from the hospital. It was mostly water. I looked like an Ooompa Loompa! LOL. I couldn't walk, they almost rolled me, I was so swollen from head to toe. I am swollen again (I have PIH) and my feet and legs look huge. I am not so worried. If I gain 30lbs, 40lbs, 50lbs, I know I have a tool to help me lose it and it is for my baby. As long as he is healthy, I am fine. I will be upset, but I wanted another baby and I knew there was a chance I could gain weight. With a lot of patience and dedication, I can get back into those size 6 clothes I wore last summer! I am in size 8/10 now for maternity. I am wearing Medium maternity clothes but before I got pregnant I was buying smalls. Not too bad.
Don't fret! You'll be fine! MY Dr swares I cannot stretch my pouch out by getting pregnant. He said relaxin, the hormone released during pregnancy, makes you capable of eating more and that same hormone is released during PMS if you do not get prego and I noticed, since my RNY, I could always eat more during PMS. After PMS I couldn't eat anything and threw up everything. So... hopefully I will go back to that after baby is born! Good luck! Have a HAPPY pregnancy! Don't let it fly by and you missed it because you were stressing over your weight! Being pregnant is joyous!
