how much have you gained...
Anyone willing to reveal how far along they are and how much weight they have gained? Or how much they gained with there pregnancy and what they are down to now? I guess I am trying to wrap my head around this weight gain issue I have. And maybe putting it out there on the table will help me out a little bit...
Uggh..here are my stats(embarrased to say): I started at 165-170 depending on the day (my weight always fluctuated a few pounds), but had a bad bad month because we were moving and I was stressed out with my job so I ballooned up to 189 (that was at my first OB appt in where they determined that I was 7 weeks along). So 7 weeks preggo I weighed in at 189, which was a gain of anywhere from 19-24 pounds (all from eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted, and it didn't take very long to do...I would say a month tops) I am now almost 20 weeks along and am weighing in at about 192. So in 13 weeks I have only gained 3 pounds, but thats because I started really counting my calories and I went back to the gym. I am really bothered by my weight gain because it has made me feel fat and frumpy and my face has definetly filled out so much!! I was looking at pics of me from back in June and I see a huge difference that I don't like. When I complain to hubby, he says your beautiful and your supposed to gain weight, your preggo. I guess nobody understands around me because they never had a weight problem like me, I was obese my entire life and ballooned up to 355 pounds at a height of 5'7' in 2009, before I had my RNY. I never want that to happen again. And the problem is that I know I have issues with food, even after my RNY I eat for the wrong reasons at times. Well thanks for letting me vent.

I feel your same fears...I am really trying to eat as healthy as possible, but some days are not great....I am 17 wks preggo and weigh 162 and I started this pregnancy at 150 and I think I've gained too much already but my doctor hasn't said anything about my weight....I am trying my best not to worry about the weight gain, but it's very hard. Just wanted you to know you're not alone!
I didnt have RNY, I had Lap-Band... but I'm 37+ weeks and I've gained 50 pounds. The funny thing is, I didn't gain an ounce until October. Then, I went to get some of my fluid taken out, and I've gained all my weight since then.
I'm 5'8" and was 305ish at my heaviest. The way I look at it is that I'm glad I lost some weight before getting pregnant, because being pregnant is HARD on the body. Hell, I've been blessed and have had a really smooth and easy pregnancy, too! No nausea, no bloating/swelling, blood pressure's been fine, blood labs are fine, etc.
Feeling "frumpy" is all part of it.
And my husband gives me the same kind of response. But he has a point. We are our own biggest critics and hold ourselves to a higher standard than everyone else. Just be reasonable about your expectations and discuss your concerns with your doctor. While "eating for two" is a myth, you do need to remember that you have a little life inside of you to sustain!

87 Pounds To Go! 304/257/170
Mine is quite different. I was not at goal when I got pregnant. I was worried about gaining weight but so far it's been very different. I started out at 253 (weighed in on Oct 25th) and I weighted in at 240 on my appointment last thursday. I am 16 weeks. I am trying to keep my weight stable but I already feel like I am eating so much and still losing weight.
Hi there! Well, I'm 33 weeks along and as of Saturday morning I weighed in at 206...starting weight was 185- found out I was preggo at about 6 weeks, so that puts me at a gain of 21lbs. My husband has since abducted my scale and taken it hostage! He refuses to let me weigh in every morning and to be honest this is only day 2, but I really woke up and just didn't care. I, like you, was very concerned about weight, but I'm trying to stop stressing over it. I know that I am eating a pretty decently healthy diet- especially compared to before I found out. I had regained about 40lbs in 2 and a half years, so I was starting to feel the weight gain blues and kicked it into high gear on the South Beach Diet..lost some weight and uh oh BFP!!! :O LOL
It's very hard emotionally and mentally on us because of our constant struggles with weight and so forth. It is a nasty head game that we've been playing since we were children ourselves. Just do your best to eat in a healthy way while you're pregnant- and DON'T stress when you have your off days! We all have them and we feel guilty as sin afterwards, but as long as you're not going to your local fast food joint for a big old greasy hamburger and fries EVERY day, try not to be so hard on yourself. Stay healthy- first and foremost. Keep your diet as blanaced as possible, exercise, and try not to let yourself get to tangled in the web of mental games we tend to get trapped in. I know it's easier said than done, but the bottom line is you're pregnant and unfortunately a LOT of pregnant women gain weight. Do the steps now to ensure it's easier after your pregnancy is over and it should make loosing the weight that much easier. :) Hang in there! And here's to a happy and healthy 9 months! :)
