So I swore with this baby I wasn't going to go crazy..about how much did you guys or do you guys plan on spending on a crib?  I really like some of the cribs at target and walmart which are only around $100-150..is that too cheap?  I need some suggestions!

I bought mine from Walmart and spent $140..I love it and don't think it's too cheap, especially since you can use it for a toddler bed then a twin size bed when the child grows up :-)

I think a crib is all I get new lol and we get ours from Sears. We spent 250 on our last one and we found another close to the same for our second crib. If it was up to me though I love the ones I saw at Walmart but this is one thing I let my husband pick. I love the transition one Walmart had today but my husband said no I get to choose. Go figure a man being picky on cribs. LOL

Walmart has a deal for a 5 piece furniture set. It has the crib (w mattress) a changing table, a dresser and a rocking chair glider thingie with a foot glider thingie all for $399. That's what I plan on getting. From everything I have compared Walmart is the best on price hands down. They are having a special online where the cribs include the mattress. I know it's more stuff then you were looking for but I thought I'd add my 2 cents in anyway. ^.^

I think crib prices these days are outrageous. What kills me is how the companies try to justify it by saying "oh but you can use it as a footboard & headboard for a double mattress". Ahem...these are my thoughts on that 1. why would a 30 lb two year old need a full sized bed instead of a twin size and 2. once you do that, you still need to buy another crib for future offspring. I always thought that a crib would be a smaller purchase since they only use it for like two years, then put the extra money toward a nice bedroom set when they outgrow the crib, that that can use into their teens. But that's me, lol.

Mine was free  -  kind of! My  mom bought it months ago at a garage sale.

I highly suggest checking Craigslist for a good bargain or buying one from Wal-Mart. Realistically, buying one from a store, you're probably looking at closer to $200.

I got a beautiful solid wood crib that converts to a toddler bed and then a full size bed for $125 from Craigslist. It was a crib that originally sold for more than twice that! Be willing to get used, it's the best way to recycle! Just buy a new mattress.
