Hey I was nice :)
Seriously, once you get near your goal weight you will find there are so many things you can do with your son that you weren't able to do before. Thinks like climb through a McD's playland, chase him through the park, have a bunch of playdates without being tired within an hour...ect. Not to mention the fun you can have this summer with your hubby (wink). At least enjoy being at goal for a little while before TTC. You will see how much fun it is. Really.

your thoughts are that of an idiot and selfish.... if your willing to put you and your unborn baby at risk because your selfish.. then you shouldnt be a mother at all... and if the baby does survive? great.. but what about all the long term damage you did to your body? you know..bone mass doesnt just magically reappear.. and you really need to rethink this idea.... everyone uses their asshole.. but its obvious not everyone uses their brain

I know that you wanted stories, this board is full of heart wrenching stories of miscarriages and ketosis...hospital visits, etc. My wish for you and any woman on this board is a healthy and uneventful pregnancy. I can't imagine trying so diligently to conceive and then losing a baby b/c your body is not able to sustain it. You did ask for insight as well as stories. I mentioned that I was 7 months out...I was also about 10 to 15 lbs from goal weight. That helped out tremendously. At 4 months my pouch would feel like I ate Thanksgiving dinner after eating toddler servings, lol. Even at a year out, feeding my baby is really hard. I was blessed not to have morning sickness, and pretty good labs...but based on what I have read that is not typical. The first two trimesters I continued to lose weight, I have finally leveled out and gained 3lbs. To intentionally conceive while in the midst of your body trying to maintain itself is not a good idea for you or your baby. You wouldn't try to conceive during chemo, or during any other time when you are trying to "get well" , the first year out from bariatric surgery is not much difference. Your body is not at 100% right now. Again I wish you well, and hope that you have all the healthy babies that your house can hold!

Not that it matters, but just for the record, I do plan on telling my RE that I had RNY in Oct. And it will take me at least 2-3 months to get a consult appointment with him after I get my referral approval from my insurance which takes a few weeks. So I am looking at end of March or April at the earliest to get in to even TALK to my RE.

Just my 2 cents here but have you considered that maybe once you lose the weight the RE won't be neccessary??? I have/had PCOS and tried several rounds of oral meds and injectibles with no luck then bam 11 months post op suprise pregnant. I'm not saying this applies to all cases but sometimes the body knows best and when we are overweight and unhealthy our body knows we shouldn't be pregnant. And like I said I know that does not apply to all situations I just feel this was my own case. Just thought I'd share. Best of luck in whatever you choose. I hope you get the outcome you are looking for!!!

Purposely getting pregnant this early out from surgery is not only selfish but child abuse if you ask me, JUST SAYIN!

I am not trying to judge, I am really am just curious, why even have the surgery ( and not get to a goal weight)  to try and get pregnant so early out?

I was sleeved on the 28th of December and before surgery had a talk with my fertility doctor AND my surgeon.  Both agreed for me to wait 3 months before TTC.  I have been experiencing infertility issues for years and that was the main reason for me having this surgery.  I believe as long as you have a team that is willing to support you and monitor you VERY closely, GO FOR IT!  Good luck!

In fairness, your surgery is a lot different than the OP. Severe malabsorbtion and lack of nutrients are the biggest issue so early out. A sleever doesn't have as many of the issues as us pouchers get to deal with

See what VSG are eating at 3mos post-op.  HARDLY NOTHING!  Why are people so selfish!  Why would we want to hurt our babies, have sick babies so that they don't even have a fair chance in the big bad world.
