Same thing happened to me. I was 5 months out.
You're 34. You have plenty of time to still have several more children. Give your body the time it needs to get into optimal baby-making mode - to be the healthiest for you AND the baby. Wait at least 8 more months until your weight has stabilized - at least reasonably so - and you have consistent labs going on. To do otherwise, honestly, is selfish and immature. We can't always have what we want, when we want it. We have to work for it and wait for it.
There's a reason why your PCP is your PCP and your WLS surgeon is your surgeon. They have different specialities and different skills. Going to one to get the go ahead for something that you know the specialist will tell you no about is unreasonable. Would you go to an eye dr to ask them how your hearing was doing? Just because your labs are good NOW, when you are not pregnant, does not mean they'll be good later, if you got pregnant too early out. You're doing the right thing for you, which is reflected in your weight loss and labs...now do the right thing for all of your future children and hold off a few more months.

Hi
There have been some women on here with some good ending stories and some not so good.
I have 2 stories
I fell pregnant 8 weeks post op. Didn't plan it, failed BCP. I lost my LO at 11weeks because I kept going into ketosis. I was at the hospital more times than I can count for rehydration and IV's of glucose. It was hard, really hard & when the morning sickness kicked in that was it.
I'm now nearly 11month post op and pregnant again. This time was planned. My bloods came back that if I wanted anymore children it was now or I would never have anymore. I got Fertility treatment (Clomid only) and ended up with triplets. Even though I can eat way more than 9months ago I still can't eat enough. I have lost 2 of my 3 triplets and I again am struggling to eat enough for me and baby. I am eating slider foods to help get my cals & carbs in. I get up throughout the night to drink my fluids. I am under 3 Dr's just for the baby and have an u/s every week to watch this LO. Mine is most likely abit more full on than others but there also could be others that have it even harder.
You just don't know what will happen. We can tell you our stories but the choice is yours in the end.
Best wishes
Crystal

I'm sorry to see you've lost two of your little ones. I hope this third one is a super strong, sticky one. You're doing everything in you power to stay healthy and keep this baby healthy...the rest is in God's hands. Praying for a successful outcome for you.

Hi
Thanks Holly
.
I knew when we saw 3 I would have troubles and couldn't eat enough for 3. I knew that I could feed 1 really well, 2 I would be pushing it and 3 no way at all. I have a timer that goes off to let me drink that helps but even if I did all of what I'm doing now with my last pregnancy it wouldn't of worked. There was no way in he!! I could get down what I eat and drink now back then. On a side note with getting up all of the time I haven't had to go to the hospital to get IV's and this LO is right on target. It's amazing what 9 months difference and eating more can do.
If I could go back and change that my BC did work instead of didn't damn right I would, I never wanted to go through that. If I lose this baby, I have thought very hard and I won't do this again. My restriction is better than what we thought, I should be eating atleast 1 cup of food for a meal and I'm still under that. It's hard and at it's hardest when your feeling sick and can't/don't want to eat but you have to force it down.
Best wishes

I got pregnant 2 1/2 months post op (due to BC issues) and I had to see my OB bi weekly from 20 weeks on and then get a growth scan and NST weekly from 32 weeks on. I took 10 vitamins daily and I had to be sure to eat 100g carbs and 70g protein along with 32 oz of milk daily as well.
What is waiting another 8-14 months when you look at the big picture or when you think about the risks?
