Yeast infection?

I've never had one before. So trying to see if anyone has had similar symptoms. Maybe it's something else...

After I had my baby (Nov. 2nd, 2010) I bled for 3 weeks. Then after that, I continued to "leak" a white runny fluid that has the consistency of raw egg white. No odor at all. This went on and on. At my six-week check up, I asked my ob/gyn about it. He said as long as there's not odor or strange color, it would probably go away as soon as I got my period.

No period yet, been over 10 weeks since I gave birth. I still have the "leak", but it also burns down there. (It doesn't burn when I pee.)

I decided maybe I have yeast infection and got a Monistat 3 day pack. I'm on the 2nd day. Hard to tell if there's any improvement or how long it will take to tell. Just want your ideas or if anyone has had the same type of experience?

Wondering when I may get my period too....Haven't breast fed since three weeks after delivery and had my tubes tied the same day as delivery (it it matters).

TIA

Kina

I always know about 2 seconds after a YI starts .. insane miserable itching! If you think you might have something going on, demand to be seen and tested. It takes literally minutes, and over the counter stuff will treat symptoms but they do not cure. You may need an antifungal to get rid of the possible YI. Do you take probiotics? Aceidpholous is great for normalizing "good" yeast and you can get it in powder form in the refridgerated section of your local health food store, or Activia yogurt has some in it.
No matter what, you know your body best and probably need to be a little more insistant with your office. Good luck!

I get them when I look cross eyed at antibiotics...they're miserable.  (TMI alert!) Itching - as in call in the chimney sweep and borrow his bru****ching - and burning when you pee.  Usually the discharge will look more thick like cottage cheese type texture rather than white egg white type discharge.  That said, you may have a different type of yeast infection - there's probably more than one type?

Go see the dr and ask/demand he do a test.  If it is a yeast infection - Duflican (sp) is great - it's a pill you swallow 1x and voila!  Takes a day or two to kick in, but before you know it, no more infection.  No icky creams, no days of application..just swallow a pill.

There are home pH tests to help you determine if it is a yeast or bacteria infection. While you are waiting for a Dr appt I would try one of those.

I also agree with above posters.. OMG itching. I thought I had to put mittons on my hands so I wouldnt claw my privates off. And the burn was from broken skin.

I know post baby you have leuka-something drainage.. basically white drainage but I don't remember how long that was suppose to last.
