Saw my ob-gyn yesterday
Hey guys!
Just a little background, I'll be 3 years out of my RNY on 3/17/11. I am currently getting my masters and will graduate mid-May. I am wanting to TTC as soon as I graduate (prolly that same night, LOL!).
Anyways, saw the ob-gyn yesterday to ask some questions and get a checkup. He told me to stop using BC 3 mos before TTC, so will stop in Feb. Also, he gave me some pre-natals to go ahead and start taking. Told me the newer ones have DHT in them and that some think it helps with baby's brain, although research doesn't support it....yet. He gave me some with DHT and some without. I asked if I needed any blood work before TTC to see if my body is healthy and he said I'm pretty much treated as a normal person with the preg. No need for blood work beforehand or anything. I asked if I should take prenatals twice a day like I do vitamins, but he said once a day was fine. I took one last night. What I'm doing right now is taking one prenatal at night and one regular in the morning. What do you guys think? Should I switch it? Was this good info?
I've spent 15 years NOT trying to have a baby, LOL! So, that's what my experience is with. This whole TTC thing is new to me and yes, people get preg every day, but I'm a planner type of person, o just trying to make sure everything I'm doing is okay.
