When to use opk

Hello Everyone,

This is my question my cycle is on average 27 -30 days.  My question is which day do I start using the opk tests.  My cycle in dec was dec 10 and my cycle for jan this month was jan 6 now that was 27 days.  So do I use the 27 day on the opk test to test?  Please help confused.

Most women with 28 day cycles ovulate on CD14 (14 days from the day of your period. But stress and irregular cycles can make you ovulate earlier. Start testing at CD10 just to be sure you don't miss you LH surge. You can buy OPK strips from Amazon for much cheaper, you just pee in a cup & insert the strip. You can get a pack of 40 for like $8.00. The sticks sold in the stores are vey expensive, and will add up if you become neurotic about testing (like I was).

I believe Chelle is about right...start a few days before CD 14 just so you don't miss it.  I have a longer cycle - 30-32 days - and usually O around CD 18.

I'm doing OK.  Trying not to obsess and to leave it in God's hands whether this is gonna happen.  It's too stressful on both of us to focus on it 24/7. 

Do you temp or anything to try to make sure you catch the O date?  or chart?  Fertility Friend is a pretty easy chart to use, though you have to rememer to do the temping before you get out of bed...that's about the most difficult thing about it.

I got the 20-day kit and started the day after my period ended. My cycles were always really irregular and I had no idea when I ovulated. Worked for me on the first try!

I used First Response... and I dipped the sticks instead of holding them in the stream.
