Need some support that I'm not alone!
Ok....I think the hormones are peaking....I'm 11w 4d preg with #2...but my first post op (down 150 lbs) and I feel huge!!!! Like disgusting.....none of my clothes fit right and when I look at myself in mirror I honestly think I look obese....
My stats...5'8"....weighed in today at 153...haven't gained but maybe 1 lb from pre-pregnancy wt...from weeks 7-10 I was not eating so much so I had lost a few but those are all back! I'm sure it was mostly water....I have lost my waist and I cannot button my pants at all so I'm in maternity pants!
Oh the other thing I had a tummy tuck in feb so do you think that some of my bloat/swell is still from that?
I keep asking my husband if I look fat and I'm worried that I have a long way to go so please tell me those feelings are ok?!?!?
Thanks for listening...Courtney

Sweets your stats sound fine. You are no where near obese. You aren't alone though. I see the 10lbs I gained and I freak out. But then I take a moment and remember it is for the baby. I just try to stick with the healthy choices and forgive myself when I freak out and have to have chocolate. There are lots of books that give you the break down on how much weight you should gain per trimester. It also shows you the general breakdown of how much the baby weighs at the end and all the other stuff needed. It's like 11lbs just of fluids and baby.
As for the tummy tuck.. I dunno how that affects things. I actually was planning on getting one this summer.. instead I am getting a baby! I am sure someone with experience will chime in soon.
I know it is hard but don't stress and congrats!

Now, girl don't worry...I'm assuming thats you in your pic (with your collarbone popping out lol). 153 is a normal weight, maybe even bordering on underweight if your are 5'8. I would love to be 153 again.
As for the tummy tuck...the swelling and bloating go away withing 2-3 months. Maybe you are just retaining fluid in your tummy area. It doesn't help that maternity clothes were designed for a "one size fits all" category. The doctor who runs my support group says that after people see themselves as heavy for a long time, it's hard to see themselves as any different even when the mirrors and scales prove otherwise. I am sure you look fabulous...don't worry!

Sounds good to me
I think you will look fine. At least you are gaining from the baby and not just having an issue
I feel that way too so much and then I feel guilty and stop it. When I go in to the doc now I dont even look at the scales.

Hi Courtney,
You are not alone, but as Chelle says, we have a hard time adjusting to our new bodies, so when we gain weight, we're freaking out.
I am currently 15 weeks and have put on about 7lbs and weigh 147 at the moment (I am 5'2")- -I too feel huge, but realistically, I am only 10lbs higher than an ideal weight. 1 year ago I was 100plus pounds overweight and didn't think I looked too bad.
I've lost my waist too as does every pregnant woman. - Relax, it could be those crazy hormones as you say. Sending genuine love and positive thoughts your way x

Thanks ladies for your support....I know it's normal to feel this but you girls really understand why I'm having these feelings.... I eat pretty well 90% of the time so I don't eat crazy junk! I still dump so that keeps sugar out of the mix!
Well I wish you all well and I thank you for the support...I'm glad there is somewhere for us to vent!
@chelle.....yes I still have the collarbones so I guess I
Ok! Lol! Someone the other day told me I looked good that my face was "filling" out...what???? That implies bigger....why do people make comments....

I feel the same way you do!! I am 5'9 and started at 150 lbs and now weigh 160, at 16 wks along and I FREAK out when I get on the scale which makes me hubby say "Baby, YOU'RE PREGNANT, it's OKAY!" Somehow though, I don't think it is okay and might not feel like it ever is. Just something I have to deal with on a daily basis I guess. But, you are not alone girlie!!
I am also 5'8" and would kill to be 153! I am 188 (about 7-10 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight) and I still feel like I look pretty good (hey, my collar bones show too). Don't worry about it. Most people (even those who have never been obese) feel this way during pregnancy. I had to start wearing maternity clothes very early too even though I had no visible bump for a VERY long time. My regular clothes just didn't feel comfy.
It was hard at times because I just didn't want to gain all my weight back, but after a while I grew to love my pregnant body and I don't even mind if I never lose that extra couple pounds. My baby is WELL worth it! I wish you a wonderful happy pregnancy! Try to enjoy it!

P.S. I am sure hormones have a lot to do with the way we feel about these things too (0:
