Emergency surgery at 17 weeks pregnant...

What a crazy coincidence! Yes, I heard this is extremely rare. I actually was able to have it done all lap.  He didn't remove any of the bowel portion since it seemed healthy enough and didn't want to put the baby at risk anymore. I am so happy that your baby is doing great! That was by far the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I was so worried for my little love bug.
I am still concerned. Some of the previous symptoms are back and I don't know what to do. I don't have the extreme pain that I had one night, but I have off and on pain. A tugging feeling in my abdomen. Occasional bloating and distension of my belly. Gas, the runs,  a couple of times of vomiting with stomach acid, and intermittant pain. Lot's and lot's of bowel sounds...
I don't know what to do! Did you have any of this after surgery? Or is history repeating itself??
I am so worried about my baby. I don't want to go through this again :(

My was such a rapid onset and decent that I did not have any time to think about symptoms.  Once you have it you are more so prone to have it again vs the agerage person. They can easily do a barium mix and exray to see if that is the problem. I know e-rays are a no no during pregnancy but so was my 3 hours open surgery and many many doses of heavy pain killers.  Better safe then sorry.  Although I totaly know how you feel and I was so parinoid ever little pain I had for the rest of my pregnancy.

Good Luck and keep me posted.
