Length's of children

I have to laugh sometimes. My son is almost 5 months and he is 27 inches long. There are people that have one year olds that are shorter than him. He looks MASSIVE compared to children his age. The doctor says "wow, Aiden you are a toddler" or "Aiden, you are a bronco bull". He is so strong and advanced for his age. His head is HUGE compared to all the kids in his nursery. My husband says his head is bigger to hold all that brain power he has.

Aiden had a hard start but I need to be thankful he is healthy. I just laugh at how LONG he is and how people say my goodness he is so tall. Then, when I compare him to others that are same age/older he is taller than them.

Tristan is 33" at 15 months so Aiden is definately tall... but Tristan is like in the 99th %tile. My friends daughter is almost 3 and is 33" as well.... It makes it funny when people try to guess his age. I don't care as long as he's healthy :)

PS... Glad to hear that Aiden is doing better

I think that is going to be Aiden. He has always been over 97% on height since birth and every check-up.

My daughter was always above the 95% for height. People were asking me (when she was 3) what grade she was in. I guess being tall has its plusses... IE less bullying at school, sports advantages, ect. Not to mention he will probably be a strappingly handsome & tall young man in 16 years. Prepare yourself now for the cheerleaders to start calling lol.

My son has been too!  He has always been in the 90-95% height and weight every check-up.  I went in and looked up his height.  At 5 months, he was 27 inches, and 21 pounds!

There is this awesome web-site that I use that really helps, especially since I never have time to write every month down in his baby book as I go.  I used it for my daughter who is 3 now, and I am using it for my son who is 17 months.  You can record their height and weight for each month (up to 2 kids) and then like for my daughter when she reached 24 months-I just printed the entire thing and wrote it all down at once in her baby book and I was done!

Here is the link in case you / anyone is interested.

If I remember though, Aiden isn't as "heavy" as my son is/was-he might still do some catching up!

Yes, he got down to 13 pounds when he was in the hospital and was 26". We now have formula and have to add caleries to each bottle to "fatten" him up. That is hard for me as I don't want him to have weight issues but the pedi, GI doctor, and dietician all have him on a bulk up diet. In two weeks he went from 13 pounds to 14 pounds 4 oz. So, I am going to say he is at least 15 pounds now. I want him to be healthy just don't want him to get too out of control once he does "catch up" on his weight. He has just just chunked up in two weeks since his procedure. He is really happy and for the first time in a few months he is really enjoying eating.

My girls are 36" tall at 20 months. Their pediatrician says they'll be at least 6 ft tall by the age of 18. Not a huge shocker since DH is 6'5".
They're taller than their 3 yr old cousin by a couple of inches but despite their height they're very slender which makes shopping for clothes a hassel already.  lol
