Am I Dumping or is it Morning Sickness?
Hi OH Friends,
I used to be a regular on the Ontario Forum for WLS and haven't posted for a long time. I am so new to this forum but know that the support that OH will be important as I navigate the journey of pregnancy post-WLS.
I had my RNYsurgery in October of 2008. It was successful and I have been enjoying life post-WLS. I am now 7 weeks pregnant and have many questions!
As a post-RNY patient, I continue to experience dumping syndrome. It is both a blessing and a pain. It keeps me in line, that is for sure, but it can also be a real interruption to life. I do not "dump" on a regular basis, but when I do, it is harsh.
I am wondering if any other RNY'ers have experienced dumping in early pregnancy. I am trying to determine whether I am indeed dumping or whether I am succumbing to morning sickness. Nausea immediately after eating is often a first signal for a dumping episode. I seem to be feeling that a lot more lately. Any ideas?
Thanks

I haven't made my announcement public yet - well, family and a few friends know (Tanya knows) because I can't keep a secret to save my life! Most of my FB friends don't know yet. I am glad you do because you are awesome when it comes to advice and support.
I am thinking that I may need to go on modified bedrest for the first trimester. I have found that I can do only about one thing a day before I begin to feel like total crap-on-toast. I am really worried about going back to school next week given that my job keeps me very busy from 8AM until 3:30 - I sometimes don't even get the chance to eat. I want to do what is best for the bebe but also what is best for the kids at my school - I really do not feel up to the challenge right now!
I will keep you posted. Diclectin may be what I need. Gravol doesn't help at all and I am losing weight. Not massive amounts of weight, just a couple of pounds, but come on, it was Christmas and I lost a couple of pounds?
BTW "Dejeuner-" great name! Maybe that lady's second bebe will be called "Souper."
Happy new Year hon,
