Question....

I'm almost 6 weeks (according to me, according to the dr I'm 7 weeks) and I don't think I'm cramping, but I feel a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen area. My lower back feels like I'm having ovulation pain. This is normal, right? From my uterus growing? I'm not having much nausea or anything and I'm not constipated. I just want to make sure I'm not losing my mind!

I felt that, too. This is my first baby. I don't know how else to explain it, other than my uterus just felt "heavy" very early on. My back didn't start hurting until around 12 weeks, but everyone is different. I didn't have nausea or constipation in the beginning, either... it didn't hit me until about 12 weeks, too.

I had cramps with every pregnancy- I would go to the bathroom wipe and cringe- praying there wasn't blood. I think it is just a typical growing pain...oh and my back pain got so bad I could hardly move- went to er they just told me (after doing u/s) that was me being pushed and stretched- and I was only like 10 weeks or something.  Pregnancy can be a worrisome time...but try to relax.

I don't really think I'm fully worried, just wanted to make sure it was normal.

Yep! Had that happen to me too! (and I had bleeding to go with it at times). My reproductive endocrinologist (ie fertility specialist) and regular OB said it was perfectly normal. I'm down to counting the minutes til he gets here now, so I guess they were right.

Yep. It's completely normal. With my third pregnancy (my only live birth, first 2 were losses) I remember crying my eyes out multiple times thinking I was loosing him too. I did not.... With this pregnancy I have felt that way alot on and off again and I remmber thinking... so maybe this is normal.

Ironically enough, my sister just found out she's preggers too, due 8/20/11 around you I think and she called me yesterday about the same thing. This is her first pregnancy but she's worried b/c she's related to me.... So I'll tell you what I told her...

1. the only thing that matters is blood.
2. At this stage there's nothing they can do to stop it... as much as that sucks.
3. Brown blood is old and doesn't always mean a loss.
4. Stress is bad ... calm down :)

Hey Stephanie!

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in... having the dr measure you further along than what you think you are is good.  It means the embryo is growing at a good pace.  Very good this early on. ;-)

Hugs!

Believe me, I would believe her if she had measured!! My dr won't even see me until I'm 10 weeks (which is where the date difference helps me right now)! Their date is from that wheel thing. I ovulated about 9 days late so that's where the difference is. When she measures on the 20th of January, I hope the baby is growing good enough to agree with their due date!
