Now that you are pregnant, how often do you get blood test done and what do they test you for?

I had one at my first appointment (at 7 weeks) then I had an early glucose test at 16 weeks and another at 28 weeks. The first draw was for everything post RNY. The 3rd time with the glucose test, they drew more blood as well to check my iron.

Because you're pretty new out from your surgery - 8 months? - I'd suggest having them do your labs every other month (at the least) just to make sure things are OK w/your vits.  The baby's gonna get what he/she needs...but you don't want to get low on them or you're the one who's going to suffer in the long run.

I'm not an RNY patient, but I've only had blood drawn twice. Once to confirm the pregnancy, and once around 26 weeks to check my blood glucose and iron levels.

My doctor does a full vitamin panel every 2 months or if I ask for anything in between. My iron I ask to get checked every month. I do fasting blood sugars every 3 months. No glucose tests. well the drink anyway. My doc does what I ask him to do cause he is awesome. lol

I'm with Shannyn on this one. You need to make sure you have your doctor do a full "Lipid Panel" every 2-3 months to make sure you're not lacking all essential viatimins. I had to ask for it as my OB didnt offer this to me...so demand it. I do it every 3 months, but every 2 months sounds even better. They check my Iron and do a fasting blood sugar (AIC), etc.

I've had a blood test for standard STD/HIV tests. CBC, BP7, TSH(at my first appointment)..fasting glucose then 2 hour after eating(about 14 weeks)..AFP (16 weeks)..they did a finger stick blood test with the ultrasound to check for down's and tri 13/18.(about 14 weeks.)

I think that was everything. I did my own HCG since I work at a hospital so they just took copies of my results. I went near the end of my 1st tri so I might have missed out on a few tests they do at first.
