SO PISSED OFF!!! yes i used a swear word..shock
I am new to the boards but I've worked in Healthcare for more than 17 yrs so let me give you some options of how to get some assistance. There are 4 different sources you need to contact regarding the issues you have had/having.
1. Your insurance company...there are some policies that pay for maternity care as a flat rate and if that is the case with yours that will make it more difficult to get another practitioner. You also need to report his bad behavior so that he will be in jeopardy of losing his preferred provider contract with the insurance company.
2. State Medical Licensing Board-Lodge a formal complaint...the terminology is "abandonment of care"
3. A Lawyer-you have a case for abandonment of care which is a violation of their oath and licensure.
4. The Periontologist, since you have already seen him then he should be able to either treat you or provide a referral to another OB with some background on your case.
Hopefully some of this information is helpful. I am really sorry for your experience and pray you and the baby are well.
