I can't feel baby MOVING???? Am I too fat??
Okay so it's probably an ignorant question but please understand this is my FIRST pregnancy and I am CLUELESS! hahaha!
Anyway about a month ago (aprox) I felt the "flutters" here and there and felt very fortunate/blessed and very happy.....![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/fairy.gif)
Now today I'm 20 weeks and haven't felt anything for awhile now....no kicks...no flutters....no movement at all...???![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/idontknow.gif)
I'm worried that I may be too "big" (fat/heavy) to feel any movement from baby. I'm 252lbs I started pre-pregnancy weight at 244lbs. I've heard the heartbeat last week so I know all is well but I feel like I'm missing out on a major beautiful important part of my pregnancy and I'm 30 so I don't know if I'll ever be blessed to be pregnant again. I'm sad and want to know if it's due to my size that I'm not feeling the movements or....?
I know no-one can give me a "for sure" but any opinions and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I felt flutters around 14-15 weeks, and then not much of anything until about 21-22 weeks, then she just went wild! lol. Give it a little time, with your first one, you may not recognize the movement as what it is. Most little ones are active at night once you've settled down. When your up and moving, they are rocked to sleep, or you may not pay attention or notice movement. I hope your reassured soon! Good luck!
There could be a lot of reasons you're not feeling movement, I wouldn't jump to being obese first. It could be the placement of your placenta (anterior vs posterior), the way the baby is facing (kicks toward your spine aren't felt as easily as ones towards the front), how active the baby is (some babies are just lazy).
With my twins, I was 330 lbs, pre-op and didn't feel much movement until 20-22 weeks. By 25 weeks they could make my whole belly shake with their kicks. This time around at 200 lbs I felt him move super early ~14 wks but that's common with second pregnancies. I also notice him more at night, apparently he thinks my uterus is an all-night dance club...
You can always try drinking a big glass of ice water and laying on your left side, that always makes my babies super active. Some people also suggest OJ or fruit juice, but the sugar messes with my stomach, if you can tolerate it, give it a shot.
((hugs)) I'm sure you'll be feeling the baby in no time.

I'm a first timer myself and you're a lot further along than I am. However, you're only 30. And don't discount another pregnancy just because of your age. Hello... you're ONLY 30! I'm 40 and I'm pg w/my 1st Lil Peanut. Nothing is impossible! Just enjoy your pregnancy! My sister is 38 and still TTC her first (she's been some-what trying by just not preventing) so I know I shouldn't consider my age...but after wanting/not preventing for so many years (of course I was abusing my body with drugs mainly coke on a daily basis and being 450lbs) I was unable (probably for the best of course) to conceive....so I think this may be a one time miracle though I've been clean and sober for a few years now....
Who knows...but thank you...I love the fact that I'm pregnant and going to be a mama...it's so unreal and excited!

I have a friend who is 41 and pregnant with her first child after years of trying. I'm 32 and pregnant with my first. So don't talk like you have one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel! LOL! ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/smile.gif)
As far as the baby moving... like the others said, there are a variety of components that can make it difficult to feel the baby. I started feeling what I THOUGHT were "flutters" around 18 weeks, but I wasn't positive if it was the baby or just gas. Haha. Trust me... when your baby DOES start kicking... you will KNOW. It's unmistakable! People may not be able to feel from the outside right away, but pretty soon you will be able to feel it for sure!
