iud came out......

 so my iud came out on its own last sunday and i started bleeding tuesday and have been bleeding heavily since then, like right now im soaking through a super plus tampon and overnight pad every 2 1/2 to 3 hour and passing some clots every time i change as big as my fingers..... ive read online a lot of women bleed after the iud comes out but this is scary... i havent had a real period in 6 years but this sucks, has this happened to anyone else? oh and my dr started me on the nuva ring yesterday im hoping it works!

I am sorry that happened to you...must be scary. Do you think it all came out in one piece? Be sure to take extra iron & drink extra fluids to make up for what you are losing. Thay sounds like a lot of blood, you may want to call your OB in the morning. Good luck!

This happened to me - I bleed huge amounts for a very long time. I ended up in emerg a couple times. However, we didn't know the IUD fell out for about 3 weeks. It did stop but make sure you get all your levels checked because it messed me up for a very long time.

Def call your gyn and let them know, they are the best ones to advise you as to what is normal and what is not.

 just got home from the er, one blood transfusion later i feel a bit better, going to have to take the pill and nuva ring for a while to try and fix my hormones but hopefully it helps.
